1)Really, this book is top notch -- great writing, characterization, and a realistic and endearing F/F relationship that is authentic and resonates emotionally and physically. The description of the rain, the cold, and the often bleak landscape is compelling and allowed me to be inside the world. A complete pleasure to read!
2) I found this story to be a real interesting. And enjoyed the book. It took me a little to get into it, but it was worth the read.

In book three in the Dark Peak series, things are looking up for Detective Sanne
Jensen and Dr. Meg Fielding. Dating each other seems to be working, their families are behaving themselves, and the worst of the post-Christmas crime wave is over.

The discovery of a Pakistani girl’s body out on the moors changes all that. No one
knows who she is, who hurt her, or how she came to be there. As pressure mounts
on East Derbyshire Special Ops for a quick resolution, it becomes ever more apparent that the case won’t provide one.

With the Pakistani community closing ranks, and threads of suspicion reaching farther than anyone could have predicted, the investigation leaves Sanne facing an ordeal she may not survive.

1)  The characters struggling with their yearning and loning and pining became a tad bit too much after a while, no need to continuously bash readers over the head with it. Fleshed out, realistic, flawed characters; excellent treatment of the blindness. Very entertaining. Fresh with a twist. Blindness is handled with respect and realism. Would definitely recommend.

1)  I got hooked on the first page and now need the first book in the series, although I followed this one okay without having read it.  The descriptive style made it very easy to visualise the setting.  The characters are engaging, and the plot is exciting and intriguing—a real page turner.  I loved the world building, and in particularly the magic system.

Another Healing: Book Two

Betrayed and left for dead by his lover, North has retreated to a secluded island to nurture his coven of witches and their demon partners. His group uses the magic of starlight to bring as much peace to the world as they can. It’s enough. North has no desire to look for love again.

When an accident on a carpentry job reveals that he is a demon, Alan Holsen is sent to North for training. Alan possesses a rare healing ability—one he might be able to use to close the old wounds in North’s heart. While North teaches Alan magic, Alan teaches North to love again, and they both struggle with the leftover resonance of their haunted pasts.

Just when they dare to relax, North’s old enemy returns—and sets his sights on Alan. To save him, North must enlist the aid of neighboring covens, and he learns he isn’t as alone as he thought. But in the end, only North’s love for Alan and the power of the stars have any chance of saving them.

1) Very well developed story and characters. The authors writing style lead to the characters and plot feeling like a cohesive whole rather than just a story being told.
2) A sweet, well written, and thoroughly realistic coming-of-age romance. I loved every word.

Trevor Larson is a Navy brat. He’s used to moving every few years, and thanks to social media, he can stay in touch with the friends he leaves behind. But shortly after he leaves Okinawa, his best friend, Brad Gray, cuts off contact and disappears. Four years and two bases later, Brad resurfaces—and announces his family is coming to Trevor’s base in Spain. But a lot’s changed in four years, and Trevor is stunned to find out Brad is now Shannon. Their reunion isn’t quite what either of them had hoped for, but they quickly find their footing, both relieved to have each other back. Except nothing is ever all sunshine and roses. The military is a small world, and there’s no keeping Shannon’s transition a secret. Parents warn their kids away from her. She can’t attend school on-base for fear of harassment or worse. And although her parents try to hide it, being ostracized by their only social circle while they’re thousands of miles from home is taking a toll on them, too. More and more, Shannon leans on Trevor. But she’s also drawn to him, and he’s drawn right back to her, feeling things he’s never felt for anyone before. Trevor’s scared, though. Not of dating a trans girl. Not of damaging his chaplain father’s career or reputation. After finally getting his friend back, does he dare take things further and risk losing Shannon a second time?
