Okay. I linked to both now on my blog list so I can get here easily. I like the look. I have a LJ blog that I haven't used in years now. I keep it open but don't actually post there. Sometimes I use AOL software and the AOL browser and they aren't that compatible with LJ.

I have one with Word Press and I paid for it. I've been telling myself that I'm going to move there soon, but I find google blogger so easy I keep hesitating. And I get an average of 5,000 hits a day on google and I don't want to lose that by moving to Word Press. It's really like starting over again. The only reason I paid for the Word Press is because I like the look better than google.

I get what you mean. A few of my friends run comms here on LJ and ALL OF THEM got hit with the same spam.:-/

In those cases, there were 2 - 3 people to take care of the spam. But you're flying solo on this journal. So, yeah, I understand why you had that "enough is ENOUGH!" moment.

I'm over there too as clarelondon. I set up a mirror account a year ago when LJ had their last DDoS attack and went down for a while. I post initially at DW then cross-post to LJ. It works well.

Yes, I've been having the same spam problems *sigh* though I haven't checked their source yet.

It's interesting that the spammers are coming from the Ukraine i.e. in that part of the globe. I know many spambots are located there anyway, but LJ does seem to have had plenty of problems since its ownership changed.

they are making it a platform to turn profit, i.e. they are making it more commercial, and that means drawing spam.

the Spam was awful, I had already limited the comments to Open ID only, but that was not enough. I had to limit it to Friends only, and at this point, I'm moving to DW, at least there people can comments without issues.

Hi,

Just saw an entry on the other site but could not reply there, so thought I would chime in. My latest two books are 1-- science fiction, THE DÉJÀ DANCE, and 2, A gay love story A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING. So I am still writing, just not mysteries, at the moment!
