"I have no excuses. I started reading Yaoi when my kids decided they had to read every manga ever published and I got tired of little ninja boys and magical girls. I sat in the corner with Descendants of Darkness and my world was officially rocked.

I started to read love stories between men, and my official position is that if one hot guy in a book is good, then two is arguably better. If you add to that the fact that I believe everyone should have a happy ending? Well, this is the end result.

I hope you enjoy reading these stories. Each one is carefully hand crafted with love, humor, and just the right touch of… er… touching." --ZAM

Z. A. Maxfield started writing in 2007 on a dare from her children and never looked back. Pathologically disorganized, and perennially optimistic, she writes as much as she can, reads as much as she dares, and enjoys her time with family and friends. If anyone asks her how a wife and mother of four manages to find time for a writing career, she’ll answer, “It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you give up housework.” Her published books include Crossing Borders, Epic award finalist St. Nacho’s, Drawn Together, ePistols at Dawn from Samhain Publishing, and Notturno, Stirring Up Trouble, and Vigil from MLR Press.

Tristan's got issues; he knows he does. So when his most recent girlfriend dumps him via messenger, and he can't stop staring at the messenger's cock while he's breaking the news, Tristan figures it's about time he makes some changes. He formulates a foolproof plan to get himself someone who can show him what he's been missing -- until who should crash his little adventure but Officer Michael Truax, the man who gave him a really expensive ticket for boarding without a helmet back when he was in high school.

Michael has been trying to catch Tristan for years...to give him a second ticket. Suddenly he's faced with his 'Sparky', all grown up -- and looking to get laid. The habit of protecting him isn't gone completely, but the opportunity is too much to resist. He figures the kid must know what he's getting into, so he takes him home. There, they carry on a cautious dance, only to find out that neither is what the other expected, and that together, they're hot enough to melt glass.

Dare Buckley has come home—or at least, he’s come back to Palladian, the small town he left as a teenager. After a major lapse in judgment forced him to resign from the Seattle PD, Palladian is the only place that’ll hire him. There’s one benefit to hitting rock bottom, though: the chance to investigate the mystery of his father’s suicide.

Dare also gets to reacquaint himself with Finn Fowler, whose childhood hero worship ended in uncomfortable silence when Dare moved away. But Finn isn’t the same little kid Dare once protected. He’s grown into an attractive, enigmatic stranger who neither wants nor needs what Dare has to offer.

In fact, Dare soon realizes that Finn’s keeping secrets—his own and the town’s. And he doesn’t seem to care that Dare needs answers. The atmosphere in Palladian, like its namesake river, appears placid, but dark currents churn underneath. When danger closes in, Dare must pit his ingenuity against his heart, and find his way home the hard way.

Great to be reminded of ZAM's work. And I think that may be a picture of her from Yaoi Con 2009 where you were sitting next to her! Two lovely ladies together :)

Cara Elisa,

I didn't get any LJ notifications for a while (for once it was *my* mail problem ;-), it is nice to be back with ZAM in the spotlight.

I like a lot her books and buy automatically all she writes. I especially loved the St. Nacho series and Notturno + sequel.

Thank you for putting her in the spotlight!

Ciao

Antonella

You are so kind! (And I love that cover too, it's probably my favorite of all time.)

Hi Elisa

I just wanted to say that I have enjoying following your reviews & posts, especially those on influential LGBT personalities/celebrities (past and present) and learning a bit more about their lives, their successes & their loved ones.

ZAM is was one of the first authors I read in the MM literature world, it was St Nacho's then Crossing Borders that tempted me in, and I have never looked back.

Thanks again
