The Temptation of Sebastian by Emily Veinglory

Sebastian is a former soldier scarred in the body but above all in the soul. Returning from the war he can no more live among the people, he is no more the man he was when he has left for Africa and for a war that has made he witnessed the death of too many people, men, women and children.

So he has choosen to live alone in an island but when he arrives dreams and strange things happen and he is irresistible drawn to a place: will he at the end find his peace after the war?

As always the fantasy of Emily Veinglory is full of visions: her writings are powerful and evocative, and also in a very short tale she managed to bring the reader in a world that is, at the same time, very real but total imaginary.

And if someone is asking to himself where is the love in this short story, I can say that, in a sort of way, there is love in this tale, but it is more the search of a man for the peace of his soul, than the search for love.

What Elves Eat by Cassandra Kane

Elorien is the most beautiful elf of the Faerie World. And he is also vain and arrogant. When is former lover Guntoras returns from the human world saying to have found the most beautiful man, more beautiful ever of a elf, Elorien is offended and doesn't want to admit it is possible such a thing.

So when the Faerie Queen order him to go in person and return with his own judgement, Elorien goes to the human world. What he finds is an human actor very similar to him, without pointed ears and long straight hair. And he finds also a willing lover, who wants to share all he have with him.

Dario is a crescent star of Hollywood, and he has everything, less the love he wants. So when he meets Elorien, he thinks to have found his soul mate. But an arrogant elf could adjust to live in the human world?

An interesting incipit for a story, but it is really too short. It left me with the feeling to have read the first chapter or the prologue of a story.
