The Perfect Cover by Claire Thompson

Ryan has just lost his work in a big hotel in the States and make a request to work in an exclusive resort on Caribbean for the season. There is only a slightly problem: Club Eros is a gay resort and seems that all the people working there are men and gay. Obviously is not written on the job application, but what is asking to Ryan during his interview is if he is ready to be eye candy for all the customers...

Ryan is not gay. Truth be told he has had some fantasies about men but never follow them where they could lead. So, he thinks, how difficult could be to work a six hour shift per day and then trying to hide somewhere? Ryan is about to discovering that it's very difficult.

Sean is Ryan's roommate. He is not a seasonal worker, he has an all year round work and he is pretty tired to see every year the new guy arrives hoping to find a sugar daddy among the rich customer of the resort. Sean is an old fashioned guy, who believe in the true love. He is romantic and able to fall at first sight. And when he sees Ryan, is right what happens: he falls in love and he will do everything to have a chance with him. Even pose as his boyfriend to protect him from undesiderable advances.

After some time spent together, Ryan is willing to give at his fantasies free way and Sean is the perfect man to help him. But at the end of the season? Ryan has to back home in the States and Sean can't leave his work like that...

This a very tender and pretty long story. Both Ryan and Sean are nice characters. No one of them is a strong and tought alpha male. They are both handsome and nice guys. Maybe Ryan is a bit naive to be a 25 years old guy, pretty unbelievable the things he didn't know, even if he has never had a gay relationship. But well, maybe it's me that is little too malicious :-) Sean instead is too good to be true: so patient and so cute, so ready to fall in love head over heels... So comprehensive and supportive, even when Ryan mades some pretty bad mistakes.

All in all The Perfect Cover is a good romance, in a "classical" way: hot setting, an easy and dreaming contest, perfect characters with not so big problems to overcome... you can enjoy and relax your reading.

Two Spirits by Jory Strong

Trey is an elementary school teacher who has always made the right thing in his life: he went to university, excelled in study and sport, gradueted and became a teacher, turned back home to take care of his aging mother and found a suitable girlfriend. And when the Feds contacted him saying his girlfriend was involved in a child pornography traffic, he hadn't had any esitation to help them. And now he is flying, trying to find a secure place to avoid the family revenge of his former girlfriend. He has always done the right thing, even when this meant denying his true nature, his desire for other man. But when he sees the deputy assigned to protect him, his past decisions are put in question: he feels an immediate attraction to Tenino, a Native American young man, who has no problem to admit he is gay and very attracted to Trey.

Tenino is a shapeshifter thunderbird, a man of an old breed. He is content to live in the old territory of his people but he yerns for a mate to share his life. And when he meets Trey, he knows he has found his mate.

Two Spirits is a pretty classical M/M story, with a strong alpha male and a cute omega mate. It is even more classical if you think that the author has chosen to pair the classical "romance savage" couple: the strong Native American warrior, dark and muscular, with the weak Anglo Saxon teacher, blond and blue-eyes type. Maybe the story is a little to woman-mind oriented, and I have to say the author didn't push to much on the sex aspect of the story: don't take me wrong, there is a lot of sex, but I feel it somehow tamed then other stories, M/M and not, I have read by Ellora's Cave. I haven't read any M/F stories by Jory Strong, but I know she is an established author of Ellora's Cave, so I have no doubt she is a very good author. And also this story is good, even if a little short, less than 80 pages.
