Burnin’ for You by Jamie Lynn Miller

Lucas is a firefighter. He lost his lover and fellow firefighter two years before during duty. Now he is lonely and doesn't see an end to his pain. But one night he meets Evan: Lucas is in a pub trying to forget everything in the drunkness and here arrives Evan, young, solar and friendly. They spend a night of passion, and even if at first Lucas thinks at it ligh a one night stand, the morning after Evan asks him to see each other again. And Lucas decides to try to move on on his sadness and to give a chance to this blossoming love.

But on Monday morning Lucas discovers that the new paramedic working with his team is Evan; Lucas can't accept to start again a relationship with a man who risks his life everyday and he really try to forget Evan. But everything seems to conjure to prevent him and Evan first of all, he doesn't want to accept that they can't have a chance together.

Burnin' for You is not very long, less than 80 pages, but it's very romantic and also pretty erotic. Both Lucas than Evan are nice characters, but I like better Evan, he is so young and full of passion, he still sees the world through pink glasses. All in all the contrasts in the book are not too much harsh, and for this reason it's less angst than expected.

This is a pretty classic romance, and firefighters are always favourite in romance genre. A nice starts from an author I think will give us other interesting stories in the future.

Taste Test: Spring Fling edited by Mychael Black

When Spring is in the air, love is easy. But the three stories in this anthology are not fling, they are everlasting love, with the common trend of lovers who awaken to the joy of love like nature awaken to the rise of spring.

Something Better by Sean Michael: Manny is a cabana boy in an exclusive gay resort. He has five days off and he can spend his time in the resort like a guest. And the first day he eyes Dan, a guy who previously he has seen with a boyfriend, but that now is alone and brooding. And when Manny discovers that Dan was dumped by his eight years lover, he doesn't exitate to propose Dan to spend the next days with him. But it's only a spring fling, or could be the beginning of a beautiful love story?

Suddenly, Finally by Cassidy Ryan: Casey is in love with his best friend Josh, but he has never had the courage to confess his love to the man. Josh is a womanizer, and more time Casey spend near him, more his heart ache. So he decides to move on living on the beach, far from eyes maybe far from heart? But one day Josh rings to his doorbell and he is not alone: he has Noah with him, a son he never new to have and that the mother chooses to leave with him. And the first person he thinks to ask help his Casey, his best friend... but only a friend.

Zero's Fist by Kiernan Kelly: Zero is the alpha of a pack of werewolfes. To be the leader he has challenged the former alpha, but doing so he has also lost his lover, Dante, another alpha who has not accepted well the possibility to become an omega in their relationship. But now Zero is in trouble with another pack and Dante is again in town, to help his former lover... but only for that? or maybe he wants also Zero?

All the three story are prettry good, but I have a soft spot for Cassidy Ryan's one. It's tender and sweet, the relationship between the two growm men helpless in front of a toddler, but their tenderness and desire to do the right thing is heartwarming. A very sweet romance, and one I'd like to see how continues.
