Gay Commercial: Jawbone

Jawbone blue tooth TV commercial. At a sports bar was a REAL rugby team and two actors Pete & Randy. Only the camera crew (and of course Pete & Randy) knew about "the kiss." The reactions that you see on those players faces are REAL!! Directed by Sam Bayer, who is always stunning us visually with his work, from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to recent Green Day work, he is still one of the best directors of this generation.

But if I was one of the woman, I would prefer to be aware of what happened around me! It was a show to not miss... even if I don't understand too much the meaning of the spot... it means that two men kissing are noising? Don't know if I agree...

Christmas Luck by Bethany Brown

Seth is dumped some days before Christmas on the phone. It's not a good start to face Christmas alone, above all since Seth was planning to spend Christmas with his lover. To add physical pain to the emotional, Seth has a stupid accident the day before Christmas and he is now in the ER... but maybe not all is bad as it seems, since the nice doctor who is tending him is also handsome and funny, with his fake reindeer antlers on his head. But while Seth is wondering how to approach the man, a nasty woman with a ten years old boy arrives to the ER to dump the doctor's son...

Noah is out and gay, and what it could be the worst event in his life, it came out with the wonderful thing possible, his son Brady. And now on his ER there is a nice man that he would be glad to know better.

It's all about good feeling in this Christmas novel: Seth is a nice guy who will love to have a family, Noah is a nice doctor with a family ready for Seth and Brady is a nice boy maybe a bit too old for his ten years. There is no drama here, the only nasty thing is Noah's ex wife, but since the reader should not feel guilty for her to spend the Christmas without his son, it's only right that she is a bitch, so no one is unhappy. Things flow easily toward an happily ever after that it's almost too good to be true, but then, it's Christmas time!

In 50 pages of good feelings, new author Bethany Brown writes a very nice Christmas story.

Muscle Car Man by Deirdre O'Dare

Jeff is a former high tech business man who now manages a classic car junkyard. The passage is not easy and Jeff is in dear need of an help hand; so when he gives a lift to an hiker and comes out that the young man knows his way around cars, the fact that he is an ex con is not a problem. Jess is trusting his instinct and his instinct tells him that Mike is a good guy who was in a trouble but payed and now deserves another chance.

From not having a roof on his head and no perspective for tomorrow, to find a job and an home in the same day, the jump is big. But Mike is not the type to look a gift horse in the mouth, and he is willing to prove to Jeff that he deserves that chance. And then Jeff is a very nice guy, and after spending three years in a jail where his sexual life was not his choice, Mike would like to have a safe and steady relationship with a nice man.

The story is good, maybe a bit too good feelings to be true: Jeff is really too perfect, he is nice, he is trusting, he is also accepting and supporting. I don't believe that a man like him really exists out there, and if exists, he is for sure already taken. Also Mike is, in a way, too trusting and open, but, well, he is 21 years old and probably no one in his life give him a gentle hand before, so probably for him, is only right to fall so hard and soon for Jeff.

What lacks in the story is all the aftermath of Jeff and Mike first time; there is an hint to Jeff's friends, a chance to see them together with other people, to test their relationship in the open, and instead the author simple skip that part. I don't know, but an ex-con and gay in a Small Town USA... I don't think it's a so simple situation. But the book is only 40 pages long, so probably, we can't expect more, probably it's just enough that the story has an original start point and setting.
