2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Gideon's Wish

Gideon's Wish by Bryan T. Clark

I give Mr. Clark FULL MARKS. I find Gideon's Wishes first rate with its narrative strength + strong characterizations & character developments + the gracerful way it confronts bold--for romance fiction--essential gay issues with deep sexual satisfactions in a nicely constructed "real world." I also found it quite moving. For me, Mr. Clark is the real deal, a serious artist with a social awareness that is rare and swell. I'm eager to read more of his work.

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Weekend at Bigfoot’s

Weekend at Bigfoot’s by Addison Albright

A photographer for a sleezy tabloid is sent to take a photo of Bigfoot and delve into why an older woman was killed after being caught in a bear trap. He finds Bigfoot—a village of bigfoots/bigfeet?—and falls in love with one of them. The underlying question/theme is if you know something about someone that could turn people prejudged against that person but isn’t hurting anyone (like if the person is gay or Bigfoot, for example), should you make the information public?

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: We Cry The Sea (The Moth and Moon)

We Cry The Sea (The Moth and Moon) by Glenn Quigley

Glenn Quigley has a lively writing style. It's refreshing to have protagonists who are middle-aged and not classically handsome.
