Mitchell Hooks born Detroit, Michigan on 2 April 1923 is an American artist and illustrator renowned for his artwork for paperback books and magazines (The Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, Cosmopolitan, Redbook).
Hooks painted paperback covers for Avon, Bantam, Dell Books and Fawcett Publications and others. He illustrated romance novels, science fiction and crime fiction, such as the Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer, Peter Corris's Cliff Hardy and B.B. Johnston's Superspade series.


























































































Hooks illustrated How to Respect and Display Our Flag for the U.S. Marine Corps. He also designed the original film posters for Dr. No, The Face of Fu Manchu and others.
In 1999, he was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.
