Meeting Readers Is the Best Part of Gay Rom Lit

Hi, I’m Cody Kennedy, and I’m getting ready for Gay Rom Lit Retreat! This will be my second time attending GRL and I am very excited! A very special thanks to Elisa Rolle for supporting Gay Rom Lit, our books, and, of course, the incredible feat of the Rainbow Awards!

My favorite part of GRL is spending time with readers. The love, laughter, and warmth shared with readers is the very essence of living life to the fullest. I met the most awesome readers in the world last year and I look forward to seeing you again and meeting new readers this year!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with my books and me, here is a little about me:

Raised on the mean streets and back lots of Hollywood by a Yoda-look-alike grandfather, Cody doesn’t conform, doesn’t fit in, is epic awkward, and lives to perfect a deep-seated oppositional defiance disorder. In a constant state of fascination with the trivial, Cody contemplates such weighty questions as If time and space are curved, then where do all the straight people come from? When not writing, Cody can be found taming waves on western shores, pondering the nutritional value of sunsets, appreciating the much-maligned dandelion, unhooking guide ropes from stanchions, and marveling at all things ordinary.

ALL.OF.IT.IS.TRUE. One thing the above short bio doesn’t tell you is that I am old! Yes! It’s true! I’ll likely be the eldest author at GRL—is there an award for that?—and I write for the youngest crowd. I write for young adults, yet my stories deal with the very real adult problems our youth deal with today. Rebel that I am, my books also contain inference of violence, inference of sex, and music. I score my books. Please do not mock me. It’s a plight. Here is the music playlist for my newest novel, Thárros.

(if embedding is not working here is the link:

Raised in Hollywood, I spent way too much time on film sets growing up, but it gave me a unique perspective on storytelling. You’ll find more dialogue and action in my books than narrative. I also like to give readers a thrill. You’ll find twists and turns in my stories, the periodic Boo!, and at least one ‘are you freakin’ kidding me?’ moment. I have a wild imagination and look to bring imagination to life and give readers the best possible reading experience. You’ll also find three other things in my books. Romance, hope, and a happily ever after.

Without readers, we authors are nothing. Thank you for reading our books and I can’t wait to meet you at Gay Rom Lit!

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hola from The Land of Enchantment. I want to thank Elisa for hosting me today. I’m C.L. Etta, a novice author whose first book, Heartache and Hope was released for publication in July by Pride Publishing. This ride has been quite a high for me.

Imagine, I went from enrolling in a creative writing class to nurture my creative muse, to writing not one buy four novels. The second book, Heart and Home, is scheduled for preorder from Pride on October 25. Heart and Home continues the story of Kevin, Raphael and Robbie, the boys introduced in Heartache and Hope. The third book in the series, Hound and Harmony, has been submitted to Pride.

The fourth book, Love’s Tethered Heart, has been contracted with Dreamspinner Press for publication early next year. I’m proud of all my work to date, but this title holds a special place in my heart. I can hardly wait to share it with you. Danny and Mico spoke to me so clearly while I was writing Heart and Home, that I left it on the shelf, in order to tell their story. In the US, Dreamspinner is the gold standard publisher for our genre. I’m honored at being included in their family.

GRL is four weeks away, and I’m squirming because I’m so eager to meet all the attendees: authors whose work I’ve enjoyed, authors whose work is new to me, fans who love this genre as much as I do, and friends I know only through social media. I hope to meet you all. Look for the short, round woman with the silver hair, wandering the halls and holding a margarita. That’ll be me. Now, let’s meet the boys from The Beyond Heartache series.

his life out and proud as the man he is meant to be. With Diamondback tickets in his pocket,
Kevin leaves his heartache behind to pursue his long-time hope of entertaining as a drag

Fear has ruled Raphael Delgado since he first realized he was gay—fear of discovery, fear that
he can’t support his disabled mama and fear that he has lost Kevin forever. Against a backdrop
of familial love and obligation, Raphael struggles to find the courage to accept his sexuality,
while hoping to leave the fragile confines of his closeted life.
While watching a Diamondback game on television, Raphael spots Kevin kissing a man in the

Memories of GRL from J.P. Bowie

Every year when I start getting ready for GRL I think back to the very first time I met Carol Lynne in 2009 in Kansas. She had organized a small gathering of authors and readers, and we had fun talking about the genre we love. I think it was from that the kernel of an idea for something bigger sprang. With Carol, collaborating with Ethan Day, Lynn Lorenz, Theresa Emil and a little help from me, GRL was born. And how appropriate it is that this year we’re back in Kansas City.
New Orleans was our pick for the first GRL and it was fabulous. How could it not be when our hotel was right in the middle of the French Quarter? If we weren’t doing readings or workshop stuff you could step outside and soak up the vibrant atmosphere that was Bourbon Street. This, mind you, not long after Katrina, but the city was still in party mode and we made the most of it. Some wild nights to remember.
But what was great about the first GRL was the almost immediate camaraderie amongst the authors and readers. For the first time those who write in the m/m genre could promote and discuss their books in a friendly environment without fear of down-the-nose looks from other authors, so prevalent at other conventions. As for the readers to be able to chat face-to-face with their favorite author over lunch or a cocktail, many of them told me that was the highlight of the weekend. My favorite moment was the Riverboat Cruise book signing.
So, the first GRL, though small in number, just over 200 attendees, was a success and we had to it again, right? So on to Albuquerque and the numbers grew, authors, publishers and readers came from all over the world, and more fun was had, a disco night (with strippers!) was added along with a costume ball – another success, and plans were made for the following year. So Atlanta followed, then Chicago and last year my home town of San Diego where I finally got Phil, my hubby, to attend and he had a great time enjoying the craziness that goes along with serious(?) stuff like book signings and author meets and spotlights and more craziness. It’s really about having fun, meeting new people, catching up with old friends, making new ones… can’t wait for the hugs and smiling faces.
GRL has grown, and with the added influence, ingenuity and hard work of Reese Dante and her hubby Ron it will continue to be a success. Kudos to the originators, Carol Lynne, Ethan Day, and Theresa Emil for making GRL, THE fun convention to be part of every year. See you in Kansas City!

Highland Hearts by J.P. Bowie
Publisher: Pride Publishing (July 12, 2016)
Amazon Kindle: Highland HeartsJul

Callum Robertson has inherited his grandfather’s mansion in northern Scotland, but the house comes with a history he knew nothing about—should he be thrilled, or feel threatened as the house seems to lure him in?

When Callum Robertson first sees the old Scottish country mansion his grandfather bequeathed him, his immediate instinct is to sell the antiquated pile for whatever he can get for it—admittedly not much in a downturned market. Then he meets Craig MacPherson, a local farmer with auburn curls and sparkling gray eyes, and suddenly the gloomy old house doesn’t look quite the white elephant it first appeared to be.

Craig tells Callum that it’s rumored the house is haunted but by what or whom no one seems to know. Books flying off shelves then being mysteriously replaced give Callum pause to reconsider his rejection of the idea of an actual ghost haunting the place. When he finds a journal relating to the history of his family, he is, by turn, intrigued then fascinated as the saga unfolds through the writings of his ancestors.

An encounter with what he feels must be the spirit of his great-great-great-uncle Alistair makes him change his mind not only about selling the house, but also about his future with Craig.

About J.P. Bowie: J.P Bowie was born in Scotland and toured British theatres in numerous musical shows including Stephen Sondheim's Company.

Emigrated to the States and worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for the magicians Siegfried and Roy as their Head of Wardrobe at the Mirage Hotel. Currently living in Henderson, Nevada.

Werecats, aliens, and country boys… Oh my!

Recently a fan pointed out that my books revolve around three major things: shifters, aliens, and country boys. At first I laughed, then I got to thinking… and then I got to checking. *grin* And what you know? She was right.

I won’t lie—my first love is paranormal. Or is it science fiction? Okay, okay! It’s both of them, lol. So what drew me to them? There are no easy answers. There’s something about taking a character and making him into something more that appeals to me. Always has. Aliens can have any color skin, eyes, hair, extra body parts—whatever my imagination comes up with. It’s a thrill I can’t explain.

So, my fascination with werecats…. What possessed me to write about normal, everyday house cats? Well, normal is nothing more than an illusion, and my werecats are very grateful for it too! While I love the big and sexy shifters like werewolves, I wanted to do something that revolved around the felines. I’d done a story about a cougar shifter, so I wanted something a little different this time.

I based the series on my cat, Kitty-Kitty, and my love of cats. Thus my version of werecats—but they’re much larger than the normal house housecats. My werecats aren’t as big as werecougars, but they are the size of Savannahs, which are pretty big hybrids. Unlike Savannahs, my werecats don’t have the same coloration.

Did someone say aliens? In my sci-fi books, I’ve created aliens who had tentacles. I wanted these aliens to be a little scary but sexy too. So how do you make tentacles sexy? It wasn’t easy, but trust me, it can be done. ;) I’ve also created aliens with snakelike qualities like slitted pupils and forked tongues.

Other characters ended up being nonshifting, snakelike paranormals who looks human until something happens to bring forth the Vetala side of their nature. The Vetala are also often compared to vampires. I’ve dabbled in fantasy with characters with the ability to breathe underwater who were not mermen, but I’ve also written mermen, lol.

And finally, the oddball of the bunch—my country boys—who tend to show up even in my paranormal and sci-fi books. I don’t write a lot of contemporary, but I’m working on changing that. An upcoming contemporary book has one the main characters as a country boy. Of course. That won’t be out until November, though.

It Takes Two to Tango will be released by Dreamspinner on September 26th. This is Remi’s book, and the third book in the Fur, Fangs, and Felines series.

Can two very different men find the love they need to survive?

Remi Ginn’s an easygoing werecat with a love of snarky T-shirts who would be perfectly happy with a human mate. Is that what the goddess Bast gives him? Of course not. Instead she gifts him with Marshell, a Vetala: a snakelike nonshifter who drinks blood to survive. A man who’s just as toppy as Remi—and even more powerful than the West Falls Clowder’s Alpha and heir apparent.

While Remi decides whether he can handle the fates’ choice, hunters attack Marshell. In an explosion of passion, Remi and Marshell mate and Remi declares Marshell his. Now they have to figure out how to make their relationship work as they dance around each other.

The clowder is in turmoil, and Remi’s acceptance of Marshell rocks the very foundation of the insular group. The consequences will be far-reaching. And if that isn’t problem enough, the situation with the hunters is far from resolved… as the appearance of an Alpha werewolf proves.

Exclusive Excerpt:

I loved my job as a beta. I loved my clowder. I didn’t want to leave if Dolf couldn’t accept Marshell, but I also didn’t what to lose my mate. Mates were a gift from our goddess Bast, and we didn’t turn our backs on such a gift.
“Remi, I think you and Marshell need to talk.” Aidric pushed his food around on his plate too. “Marshell may be powerful. He may even be more powerful than you. But Dolf, has anyone asked him if he’s even interested in leading a group? He can’t challenge you for position since he’s not a werecat. Am I right about that?”
“You’re right,” Alpha Armonty said. “He can’t. But what if he let his power leak around the clowder members? That could erode Dolf’s position as Alpha. Or what if they refused to accept Marshell because of it? Dolf is well liked. Our members could be threatened by Marshell’s power.”
“What if we called a meeting and told the clowder? The Vetala don’t live in groups like us or werewolves, do they?” Brier asked.
“No,” I said. “They don’t. At the most you’ll have a hunting pair. They hunt in twos as a precaution. Other than that they stay to themselves. Janelle and Marshell hunt together, and they lived together after they moved here. Well, until Janelle met Sam and Heller met Lawson. They still hunt together, though.”
“‘Hunt.’ Earlier you called the humans they fed from ‘prey.’ Am I the only one who finds that kind of freaky?” Brier asked.
“We shift. For all we know, they find our shifting kind of freaky,” I spat. Oh yeah, I was beginning to see why Dolf reacted as he did when he told us about Kirk.
“I didn’t mean it as an insult.” Brier held up his hand. “But come on, Remi. You telling me it doesn’t freak you out some? I’m guessing your mate would want to feed from you. I mean, he would, wouldn’t he? Even though you’re not human?”
Shit. He would hit on the one thing I couldn’t answer.
“Okay, I’m going to throw this out there, so don’t yell at me,” Aidric said before I could formulate a response to Brier’s question. “Our clowder is already uneasy since we’ve added two humans—”
Dolf sighed. “This again? Dammit, they are not—”
“Yes, yes, they’re no longer human since they mated two of ours,” Aidric hurriedly added. “But they weren’t born werecats. They grew up with different values and beliefs. Now we’re talking about accepting another paranormal—which we’ve never done in our clowder until Janelle—who’s stronger than our Alpha.”
“It’s a problem,” Brier agreed.
“Look, the man’s my mate,” I snapped, my anger rising. “While I don’t want to leave you guys or my clowder… he’s my mate. Do you get that? I’ve watched how Kirk fought to be accepted. Hell, he still fights. Lawson probably will too. I’ve already heard rumblings about Janelle from some of the older clowder members and—”
“Wait a minute. Rumblings? What are you talking about?” Aidric demanded. “Dolf?”
“After her and Sam’s joining ceremony, the betas and Alpha met at Sam’s house for the welcoming party we always have,” Dolf said, rubbing at his eyes. “A few of the elders’ wives dropped off food—again, as they always do—then left. Janelle had a few words to say about there not being any other women there but her.”
“She referred to us as a ‘good ol’ boys club’ and pointed out there are no women as betas either,” Heller said. “That there are very few women business owners. She asked Lawson if our clowder was stuck in the nineteen twenties.”
Dolf massaged his temples.
“How do you know she said that to Lawson?” Alpha Armonty asked. “Lawson wasn’t at the party after the joining ceremony. It was just those of us with rank.”
“She said that to Lawson after the joining ceremony,” Heller said.
“We’ve never had a woman try for a beta position,” Alpha Armonty added. “That’s why we don’t have one.”
“Do they even know they can?” Heller took a deep breath. “I feel I should add that Lawson considers Janelle and Marshell family. If Mrshell isn’t accepted, Lawson has let me know it’s going to be a problem for him.”
“Now what does that mean?” Dolf demanded.
“He’ll leave the clowder,” Heller said. “He says if the man he considers a brother isn’t good enough for us, then neither is he. If he leaves, then I go with him.”
“So I might end up losing two of my betas?” Dolf slammed his hand on the table. “No, dammit. I won’t. All of you matter too much to me.”
“Janelle is right about the small-minded attitudes, Dolf. That might make some mad, but it’s true. You don’t want to lose us? Then this clowder needs to come out of the nineteen hundreds and join the twenty-first century. I won’t walk away from Marshell.” I sat back in my chair.
Well, looks like I made up my mind what to do about my very powerful, very deadly mate.

Interview with Ellis Montgomery on Release Day of JOCK 3

Oh My Gosh, Oh My Gosh, Oh My Gosh! Back Off! That’s My Jock is OUT! Today is Release Day! I can’t believe it! You can order it HERE.

You’ve probably noticed I’ve done a number of character interviews for this tour where the characters ask ME questions. I thought it was a bit different, and hopefully entertaining. We’ve spoken with Doug Archer, Sam Garber, and Rob McAvoy. For release day, why don’t we go back to the beginning and chat with Ellis Montgomery. Don’t you think that would be fun?

If you are unfamiliar with my JOCK Series, it began in December 2012 with the release of My Roommate’s a Jock? Well, Crap! In the first book Cole Reid needs a roommate and is looking for anyone but a jock. In steps Ellis! Ellis is the star soccer player at Gettysburg College and moves in with Cole. Their relationship is history, so to say, since they were the couple in book 1. Book 2 came three years later in December 2015. No! Jocks Don’t Date Guys features a new couple, Chris and Alonzo. The plot ends in mid-October with playoffs in sight. Chris has a best friend in book 2, Doug Archer, who is featured in book 3. These book can be read out of order, but it is not recommended. For die hard fans, I also have a free short on All Romance eBooks entitled Oh, Crap! This Jock’s Getting Married.

Wade: Welcome Ellis Montgomery to the interview today.

Ellis: It’s great to be here. I’m really happy to see the progression of the characters in JOCK 3 and how we all interact. May I ask, how did you decide on the theme for this book?

Wade: Nothing like jumping straight into the interview.

Ellis: *chuckles*

Wade: I love soccer. My son played high school soccer so I paid close attention. After so many years had passed between JOCK 1 & JOCK 2, I knew I had to come up with another couple and another storyline. You and Cole had to have graduated by then. I also didn’t want to lose you. The brilliant idea of you coaching instead of playing just popped into my head. After JOCK 2, I had to thing of what to do with Doug. He’d had a rough time in JOCK 2, but his story was more complicated in my head. Originally, my story wasn’t going to be about a bisexual player, but as I wrote JOCK 2 last year, it was apparent the plot I was foreshadowing for JOCK 3 was too complicated for me, so I changed it. Since Doug was dating girls in book 2, it made sense to either have him discover his bisexuality throughout the book, or write him as a gay man who suppressed his attraction to guys and dated girls because it was easy or socially acceptable. I sort of did that in Names Can Never Hurt Me, sort of, so I went with bisexuality in a way to show it’s okay to be bi and you don’t have to be ashamed of it.

Ellis: Wow. Cool. I for one am glad you did it that way. I saw the whole soccer team pause and look at Doug to figure out where they stood on the matter of sexuality in relation to friendship, soccer, and life. Thanks for that. What cultural value to do see in writing/storytelling?

Wade: I really strive to write what I see in culture, and I think the benefit is that readers in other areas of the world can get a different perspective. Or, they can see the same perspective and not feel so alone. No matter how LGBTQ rights have progressed in the last few years, there are still people who feel isolated and alone in their sexuality. I am someone who doesn’t want that person to feel alone. New York and L.A. may be relatively same to live out, but there are still plenty of places where bullying can lead to suicide. Therefore, I think storytelling can open peoples’ eyes to situations they hadn’t dreamed of before.

Ellis: What did you enjoy most about writing Back Off! That’s My Jock?

Wade: Writing ALL my characters into the story. (Except for one.) In JOCK 2 I introduced another set of soccer players, but the main focus was on Chris Jackson and his relationship with Alonzo Martin. Since I build the surrounding characters in book 1 & 2, I could simply write the story in book 3. There wasn’t as much history to build and explanation. You knew who they were. The biggest part of “telling” came in chapter one where I give a brief summary of book 2 to catch the readers up to where I was going to begin book 3. I reminded readers what Doug did in book 2 before he steps onto the field for practice and meets the new player on the team. I enjoyed bringing ALL the characters in as major parts of Doug’s personal development. The biggest part of that was his new friendship with Rob.

Ellis: I’m really glad you wrote that. Rob has needed a friend since Russell left for Japan and I got married. I think he’s been drifting for a long time. Doug was good for him. How did you get where you are in life today? Did you suffer an absence of friendship like Rob, or get bullied like Cole?

Wade: Not exactly, but I think the similarities are there. In 2010 I lost all my friends because I wrote a book with gay characters and the church I attended at the time blamed me for the three gay kids in the church. Somehow I turned them gay even though none of them knew I wrote a book with gay characters. The main character in that book was 46 and I didn’t see how anyone would think I wrote it about them. Being alone because of narrow-minded religious zealots made me rethink how I felt about gay people. I was shunned and I wasn’t even gay. I saw a glimpse of how cruel people could be toward things they didn’t understand. I then learned over time my views differed from the one in some of the churches I’d been to. I believe people are born gay (LGBTQ, etc.), but there were others who think it is a choice. In my opinion, no one would choose to be bullied, condemned, put in prison, or killed for his/her/their sexuality. It would be much easier to choose to be straight. In a small comparison (not meant to belittle), it would be easier and more acceptable to the world for me to write straight romance. I wouldn’t have gotten thrown out of church and I wouldn’t have lost my friendships. However, I believe things happen for a reason and I choose not to do the acceptable, mainstream thing, but to stand for something meaningful. I stand for equality. I want to promote hope. I want to write about the culture we live in, and change the way people think one book at a time. In short, I HAVE felt things like Cole and Rob, but I’ve also lived experiences similar to my other characters. I may not be gay myself, but I do live the same human experience in many ways. And I write to express what is inside my heart.

Ellis: Thank you. I don’t really have any words for that. I’m glad for the part I have in your JOCK series. I remember being reluctant and shy in the first book, but I’ve grown a lot in the last few years. If my character is a part of your heart then it explains why I’ve grown to be more assertive and happier. That’s you, isn’t it?

Wade: Indeed. I’ve worked through my aggression and anger with Doug’s character in Back Off! That’s My Jock, as well as pouring my happiness into you, Ellis. Maybe in the following JOCK books, you’ll see even more happiness in your life.

Ellis: So you are saying there will be more JOCK books in the future?

Wade: Yes. I’m writing JOCK 4, and I have a plan for JOCK 5. There could be a sixth one if it comes to mind, but for now I plan on 4 & 5 for sure. Is there anything you’d like to see happen in those books?

Ellis: I’d like Cole to find personal fulfillment. I know he’s frustrated with his job. I’d like Rob to find love. And I think I’d like to see Chris have a great senior year.

Wade: I think I can handle that. These will be things the readers can look forward to in the next few JOCK books. In the mean time, read JOCK 1, 1.5, 2, & 3. For details of my free short, visit my website or email me:

Defining his sexuality didn’t make sense until his best friend spelled it out.

Doug Archer did some pretty idiotic things in the first eight weeks of his junior year of college. First, he kissed his gay best friend, and second, he kissed a guy he’d mistaken for a girl. Not stellar moments for Doug. If he isn’t careful, he’ll lose his spot on the soccer team to the new freshman, or worse, he might misconstrue his new friend Rob’s overly affectionate tendencies for flirting. But if Doug isn’t bothered by another guy’s attention, and he normally dates girls, does that mean he’s gay or bisexual?

Sam Garber suppressed his same-sex attraction his entire life. His father told him it was immoral, and Sam did everything he could to bury his feelings. However, after meeting Doug at a party and kissing him, Sam can’t think of anything else. He decides dating girls is the best way to keep his secret hidden. With playoffs in sight, this is no time to think about guys in any other context than soccer. Only, neither boy anticipates the difficulty in suppressing his attraction for another jock!

Wade: I guess that concludes the interview for this guest post. Thank you, Ellis for joining me, and thank you Elisa Rolle for hosting me. Join me for more fun on the other stops of this tour:

Wade writes passionately about controversial issues and strives to make a difference by making people think. Wade does not have a background in writing or philosophy, but still draws from personal experience to ponder contentious subjects on paper. There is a lot of pain in the world and people need hope. GRL Is Coming

A writer’s life is always hectic; I often wish I could just sit and immerse myself in my stories and then have some magical fairy (preferably six feet tall and droolworthy) whisk it away and do all the other “Stuff.” The publishing, promoting and everything else associated with getting a book into my reader’s loving hands. Alas, no fairy has manifested so far, and this year I decided to attempt an even bigger challenge – attendance at GRL.
What was I thinking? I’m a typical dear old granny, who lives in rural New Zealand. I barely see people from one day to the next. But some devil on my shoulder whispered that it was a really good idea, which is why, in October I am leaving the safety of my nest and flying half way around the world to meet a bunch of people I’ve only connected with online. It will go on record as being the most exhilarating and knee-knocking experience I’ve ever had.
But already the support has been amazing. Friends messaging me who are so looking forward to meeting me. With typical writer’s worry, I hope they like me. I haven’t even started to worry about what I should pack, or what might happen if I miss my plane or can’t find my way to the hotel. I’ve scheduled those worries for the beginning of October. For now, the premise of GRL sits in my gut, slowly unfurling bringing with it excitement, hope and…yep, I’m scared too.
But the great thing about the M/M genre is the friendliness of readers and other authors alike. I’m going to get to physically hug those people who support my work with such excitement online. It is that thought I hang onto when the sheer terror of the travelling and meeting new people threatens to overwhelm me.
And it’s not as though I won’t be busy until then anyway. My newest book Harder in Heels (Alpha and Omega series, #4) was released a few weeks ago and can be found in the all the usual outlets. My A&O series are all standalone books with no relation to each other except they feature a true mating between, you guessed it, an Alpha and Omega. The next Cloverleah Pack book – Angel in Black Leather Pants, will be released in September and in October I have something new coming up, a completely new series featuring Angels and Demons. The series is called “Balance” and the first book The Viper’s Heart should be out by October 10th. Just in time for GRL.
Looking forward to seeing you all there. I’ll be the one in the corner, hiding behind the pot plant. Feel free to come and pull me into the crowd.

Harder in Heels (Alpha and Omega #4) by Lisa Oliver
Publication Date: August 10, 2016
Amazon Kindle: Harder in Heels (Alpha and Omega #4)

Alpha and Omega series – book 4. Definite standalone.

Ronan Montgomery had built himself a good life; he had friends, a small apartment to call his own, and a fantastic job as a dancer/choreographer. He still missed his mother dearly, but even though she’d been dead five years, he adhered to her number one rule – stay away from other wolves. He knew, as an Omega, that others of his kind weren’t overly friendly with those they considered weak, but as he’d never met another wolf, he didn’t feel he’d anything to worry about. That was, until he spotted two Alpha wolves at one of his performances. Who knew one brief second of eye contact could change his life forever.

Asaph Bosch was a hard man and proud of it. He’d worked his way up from nothing, building a huge international company. When a random night out threatens all he’s worked for, Asaph fights back. His mate will be a woman, or he won’t have one at all. Unfortunately, his wolf half is just as strong and just as determined as he is, and Asaph finds his life changing in ways he’d never imagined.

But life was never meant to be easy – when Asaph’s past comes back to haunt him in more ways than one, Asaph has to examine his priorities. Is his happiness rooted in the company he’s worked so hard to build, or is there more to life than money?

Warning: Contains an omega wolf who’d been raised with perfect manners, and a surly Alpha who thinks everything in life can be bought and sold. Please note this is an m/m book so the typical warnings apply.

The Alpha and Omega series is made up of completely standalone books. None of the people featured appear in other books unless previously stated.

Author Bio: Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips.

When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate.

How to Go From Anxiety to Anticipation in Six Easy Years (Or Why I Love GayRomLit)

First year, you tremble and shake and sometimes get downright lightheaded when one of your favorite authors walk by. Too scared to talk to anyone unless you’re drinking beer, then you meet lots of wonderful folks. Come back with a new tattoo.

Second year, look behind to make sure you’re the person they’re talking to when an attendee squeals, “I LOVE your book!” Suitcase falls apart, talk a kind soul into taking you to the nearest Walmart (which might be in another time zone.) Recognize folks you hung out with the year before. Drink beer. New friends take you out to see the city. Come back with a new tattoo.

Third year, squeal for two straight days while you get reacquainted with THE BEST FOLKS EVER! Work up the nerve to read a scene involving two characters debating sex and bacon to an audience. Dance with lots of folks. Drink beer. Show the friends you’ve made in the past two conventions around the venue because it’s in your stomping grounds. Introduce roommate to the wonders of tattoos. Hug everyone within reach and cry when you have to leave.

Fourth year, visit Chicago for the first time, dance with lots of folks, drink beer from a wine glass because drinking from the bottle doesn’t quite go with your formalwear. Come back with a new tattoo. Roommate does too. Miss everyone until the next year.

Fifth year, despair because scheduling conflicts mean you can’t attend. Friends bring you back swag.

Sixth year, keep checking the calendar, asking, “Are we there yet?” and counting the days until you can be with your tribe once more. Planning next tattoo.

Wow! I can’t believe six years have gone by—six years of friends, good times, and happy memories. And here I am getting together books and swag to once again head for my favorite convention. This year I’m taking a few more vacations days from my day job to have more time to hang out.

The great thing about GRL is that I get to be both writer and fangirl, and the friends I meet there don’t stop being friends once we all go home. Now, we stay in touch via e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, and smaller regional meetups.

And all kidding aside, although there are great parties (and tattoos if you want), the heart of GRL is a group of individuals who love books, love our genre, and share an immediate bond. Stepping into the hotel each year for this event feels like coming home—even if you’ve never before been to that venue.

So if you’ve never attended GRL before but plan to this year, put your nerves to rest. We’re a big happy family who’ll be overjoyed to see you. If you’ve never attended, I’d like to encourage you to do so. So, “Hey y’all” to both those I’ve attended with before and friends I’ve yet to meet, and if you’re there this year, prepare to be hugged.

And check out my new tattoo.

This year will be a bit different for me because several of my novels have now been published in different languages. Duet is now available in English, Italian, French, and on August 28, German. It’s also an audiobook!

Although it won’t be published by October, I’m hard at work on the sixth Diversion novel: Reunion. The first book in the series, Diversion (Diversion 1) has been released in English, French, and Japanese, so I hope to have translated copies with me in Kansas City.

Diversion was originally intended as a standalone, but the characters had stories left to tell. I’m planning at least two more after the current work in progress. More Lucky and Bo!

There are good guys, bad guys, and then there’s Lucky.

Former drug trafficker Richmond “Lucky” Lucklighter flaunts his past like a badge of honor. He speaks his mind, doesn’t play nice, and flirts with disaster while working off his sentence with the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. If he can keep out of trouble a while longer he’ll be a free man–after he trains his replacement.

Textbook-quoting, by the book Bo Schollenberger is everything Lucky isn’t. Lucky slurps coffee, Bo lives caffeine free. Lucky worships bacon, Bo eats tofu. Lucky trusts no one, Bo calls suspects by first name. Yet when the chips are down on their shared case of breaking up a drug diversion ring, they may have more in common than they believe.

Two men. Close quarters. Friction results in heat. But Lucky scoffs at partnerships, no matter how thrilling the roller-coaster. Bo has two months to break down Lucky’s defenses… and seconds are ticking by.

About the Author: You will know Eden Winters by her distinctive white plumage and exuberant cry of “Hey, y’all!” in a Southern US drawl so thick it renders even the simplest of words unrecognizable. Watch out, she hugs!

Driven by insatiable curiosity, she possibly holds the world’s record for curriculum changes to the point that she’s never quite earned a degree but is a force to be reckoned with at Trivial Pursuit.

She’s trudged down hallways with police detectives, learned to disarm knife-wielding bad guys, and witnessed the correct way to blow doors off buildings. Her e-mail contains various snippets of forensic wisdom, such as “What would a dead body left in a Mexican drug tunnel look like after six months?” In the process of her adventures she has written fourteen m/m romance novels, has won several Rainbow Awards, was a Lambda Awards Finalist, and lives in terror of authorities showing up at her door to question her Internet searches.

When not putting characters in dangerous situations she’s a mild-mannered business executive, mother, grandmother, vegetarian, and PFLAG activist.

Her natural habitats are airports, coffee shops, and on the backs of motorcycles.

A Writer in Meatspace

Thank you Elisa, for having me as a guest on your blog. I’m getting excited about GayRomLit, and posting here is a first step on the road to Kansas City.
I haven’t been to GayRomLit in a couple of years, because of a bad intersection of luck and vacation time, or lack of it. Note to self, schedule vacation, take vacation, because something like a stray ticket to an event you’d given up on attending could land in your lap. I coulda been there…
When I started publishing, I had absolutely no clue I would eventually travel because of my books, or meet people. My publishing world existed electronically, even moreso because my first three novels didn’t exist in paperback until they’d been around a while. In fact, I didn’t have a paperback to sign on the riverboat in New Orleans, though I can hope folks enjoyed those custom-burned CDs. My, how technology changes—I handed out postcards with download links in Las Vegas at the Romantic Times convention. (I might have a few with me in October, too.)
I came out of fandom, where we hid behind made up names and actually visiting a fandom friend was a weird and dangerous undertaking. They seem so nice online… The best friends I could hope to have came out of those tentative visits. You all know Eden Winters? She’s one such. Meeting in realspace had another shocker: what do we call each other? We’d forget and use our fandom handles.
Remembering what to answer to was an issue at the first GayRomLit, because no one calls me P.D. unless that’s the way they know me best. It sounds funny, and I never imagined answering to the initials when I signed those first contracts. Anyone I didn’t respond to, I’m sorry. I heard you but I didn’t realize you meant me.
So I learned to meet people I knew from a distance, how to answer to my name, and how to remember other people’s names when it’s all a swirl. I have facial recognition issues: it goes with getting lost easily.
Bless name tags. I love name tags. I’m not really staring at your tits. I’ll have to read your name tag to be truly sure who you are for most of the event, and I’ll have it nailed by Sunday, about twenty minutes before one of us has to go to the airport. Then the next year I’ll have to start all over. By the time I see you three years running, I’ll be good by Friday afternoon. However, having missed Chicago and San Diego, I’m back to ground zero with some of you.
But I will be so glad to see you, even if this identifying people business makes me look like an idiot. I’ll be a joyous idiot, staring at your chest and then babbling away with details of previous talks or your books or your reading tastes once I get a good glimpse of your tag.
If it’s the first time we meet, then yay! A new friend, and we’ll talk, and I’ll see you at enough events that you are firmly in my brain by Sunday.
To keep that knowledge green, we’ll have to keep coming back. I can reliably recognize my gracious host, because I’ve had the pleasure of her company several times now.
It’s been a lot of years since that first bookless book signing on a paddleboat, and the paperbacks have gotten higher and more varied. Fire on the Mountain has a gorgeous bronze cover for its pages, and the series has grown. Kurt, Jake and their friends need five books for their stories. Dreamspinner has them all in one big package to fit in your ereader. But I don’t mind signing my name five times.

The Mountains Bundle
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (July 1, 2016)
Amazon Kindle: The Mountains Bundle

The mountains are the best place to find adventure… and romance. In Fire on the Mountain, Jake Landon is looking forward to a summer spent patrolling the mountain with some crusty old mountain man and hiding in the closet—only Old Crusty turns out to be young, hot, and friendly Kurt Carlson. In Snow on the Mountain, Jake and Kurt are working the slopes and trying to navigate a new relationship out in the open. In Fall Down the Mountain, Mark McAvoy falls for chef Allan Tengerdie just as quickly as Allan falls on the slope and breaks his arm. Can Mark and Allan help each other work through their problems together? In Cross the Mountain, Allan decides to give cross-country skiing a try in order to keep up with his ski patrol lover Mark. In Blood on the Mountain, Jake and Kurt are back for another summer of fire patrol in the Rockies, trying to work out their relationship alone, but they quickly stumble onto a dangerous secret. In Return to the Mountain, caddy Gary Richardson hungers for the luxury life his clients have, but his love Seth Morgan is perfectly content with their life as it is. When opportunity knocks, Gary and Seth both have choices that they must make.

Author Bio: P.D. Singer lives in Colorado with her slightly bemused husband, two rowdy teenage boys, and thirty pounds of cats. She’s a big believer in research, first-hand if possible, so the reader can be quite certain Pam has skied down a mountain face-first, been stepped on by rodeo horses, acquired a potato burn or two, and will never, ever, write a novel that includes sky-diving.
When not writing, playing her fiddle, or skiing, she can be found with a book in hand.

Hi, everyone! This is my first or two stops on the GRL Tour. I want to thank Elisa for having me. This blog stop is smack dab in the middle of my Soul Seekers Blog Tour, my fifth novel release so I’m going to mix this up a bit. Read why this is my first GRL, read 25 random questions about me, and then an excerpt from Souls Seekers. And since the release tour has a giveaway, you can sign up too.

GRL – My second Con and Why I Haven’t Been to GRL Yet

Last July, I went to Rainbow Con in Tampa. Believe it or not my first trip on an airplane ever! I’ve always feared flying and vowed never to step foot on a plane. Why did I? First, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more logical and less driven to panic. Of course, my fear of flying is dying…well, that, and I’m claustrophobic, afraid of heights, afraid of crashing…you get my point. Also, my grandmother, at 85 yrs. old, got on a plane for the first time and went to Aruba. I didn’t want to be 85 before my first plane trip.

Bring on the miracle of drugs.

Not the illegal ones. Something my doctor gave me and some Benadryl and I wasn’t afraid of anything. Since there was a layover there and one on the way back, I actually had four different plane trips. Go me!

My first GRL was going to be in 2014. Ohio is close to New York, and sort of close to where I lived in NY so I could drive. Plane not an issue but money issues took care of that trip. Atlanta 2013 and San Diego 2015 were vetoed by the plane issue. No way I was driving that far!

Bring on 2016. Plane is not an issue. So far money is not an issue. And an added bonus, this year GRL is in Kansas City, Missouri and home to my bestie, Raine O’Tierny. Double score.

So yes you will see me at GRL barring anything other than the fear of flying getting in the way. Hope to see you there.

Nineteen-year-old college student Levi Reed has spent his life with hollow emotions and a darkness so deep that he's convinced he’s losing his mind. He'd give anything to feel something, anything, real.

When a mysterious stranger appears, Levi is convinced the man is trying to kill him. When he’s near, Levi experiences head-crushing pain and something surprising—real emotions for the first time. Jeb Monroe is arrogant, self-assured, closed-off, and handsome, but his isn’t the harbinger of doom Levi assumed. Jeb’s mission: help Levi find his missing soul.

Levi is pulled into the secret world of Seers and Keepers, those born with the innate abilities to manipulate souls and tasked with balancing the negative energy they can produce. Levi learns he possesses a rare gift, and he’s in danger. As Jeb and Levi grow closer, they discover a group of zealots who want to harness Levi’s power to cleanse the world of damaged souls. Everyone Levi cares for is threatened unless he agrees to become their tool of death. But agreeing could spell the destruction of humankind. Hi folks! I’m happy to be here on Elisa’s blog today talking about GRL, and my new release, Strong Medicine. This year will be my fourth trip to GRL, my third as an author, and my very first as a featured author. Despite my anxiety, I’ve always felt very comfortable at GRL, but I’m a nervous wreck over the whole public speaking aspect of a featured spot. I’m doing a Q&A on Thursday afternoon, so y’all think of some questions so I’m not hearing crickets the whole time! ;-)

But seriously, come see me any time at GRL. I love getting to know my fellow authors and especially my readers. I’m a reader too, so there’re plenty of people I’ll be fangirling over.

Also, I’ve just had a new book released from Wilde City Press called Strong Medicine. Here’s what it’s about:

Strong Medicine by J.K. Hogan
Publisher: Wilde City Press (May 18, 2016)
Amazon Kindle: Strong Medicine

Blurb: Two men who meet in a psychiatric institution couldn’t possibly find happiness together—could they?

The world seemed to be telling disgraced former child star and singer Cameron Fox that he would never be happy again. A drunken car accident gets him sentenced to a work-release at Riverbend Behavioral Health Facility.

Reclusive, traumatized writer Jonah Radley has an entire graveyard of skeletons in his closet. Jonah regularly hospitalizes himself for psychotic episodes caused by a horrific childhood trauma, his biggest secret—one he refuses to speak about in therapy.

Jonah and Cameron form a bond inside the hospital, forged in mutual pain and hope for a better life. Once they leave the hospital, they must decide if they are brave enough to explore the intricacies of living with mental illness—and find a new normal together.

Starting from June 1, 2015, I will daily feature authors attending the three conventions I will join, Euro Pride in Munich (July), UK Meet in Bristol (September) and GRL in San Diego (October). Moreover I'm taking part at the 2015 GRL Featured Blog Tour as Featured Blogger.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Lane Hayes:

Is it really October? It’s hard to believe GRL is only a week away. This time last year I was preparing for my first ever GRL in Chicago. I had a blast! It was an exploratory visit for me as a reader and a new author. I met some wonderful people and was more excited than I can communicate to openly discuss a genre I had become passionate about in a relatively short time. Discussions about audiobook narrators followed by impromptu Starbucks run before jetting back to make the Q&As led by some of my favorite authors… what could be better? As a suburban mom, I never in a million years would have dreamed it possible. Fast forward a year and the girl who clandestinely read MM Romance like she was sneaking chocolate before bedtime is going to GRL San Diego… and this time, as a Featured Author. Pinch me!

For those readers who don’t know me, I am the author of the Better Than and Right and Wrong Stories series. My seventh book, Better Than Safe, book 4 in Better Than Stories, was released through Dreamspinner Press in late September. Perhaps I’m more passionate about the genre than I originally let on because I’m also the proud mother of a young gay man. I wrote my first book, Better Than Good, shortly after my son came out to my husband and me.

The underlying theme of Better Than Good, as with all of my subsequent books, was one of hope. On a personal level, my hope for my son was self-acceptance and the knowledge he is worthy of love, respect and equality. Three years later, he’s come a long way. The frightened kid who had a hard time looking me in the eye when he finally shared the secret I’d been waiting years to hear, is now an out and proud young man. Instead of worrying about him never leaving his room, I worry about him never being home. I’m a mother. It’s my job to worry. Lol. However, it is comforting to know he has begun to embrace hope and is learning to quiet his fears.

The fight for equality is far from over. Prejudice, intolerance and suppression surround us. But there is hope. There is a wonderful community of supporters who rally to promote education and understanding for LGBTQ rights. Sometimes it feels like the tide is turning, but it doesn’t last long enough to get excited about before another politician or crackpot county employee decides they’re doing God’s work by denying their fellow man their human rights. Unfortunately, there will always be bigots and morally ambiguous people, but the fact the MM Romance genre exists gives me hope. Any book that takes you to a better place for a while and reminds us of the beauty and transcendent quality of love is a work of art in its own way.

I’m extraordinarily proud to a member of this community and I’m looking forward to celebrating it with like-minded writers and readers at GRL in San Diego next week. Hope to see you there!

Thank you for having me today, Elisa! See you in SD!

Paul Fallon is a fashion advertising guru. He’s a genius at dealing with difficult editors, art directors, and designers alike. He thrives on the chaotic atmosphere and constant challenges. But in his personal life, he’s hoping for peace and stability. Settling down with a nice doctor or lawyer sounds perfect. Anyone but an artist. He’s been there, done that, and he doesn’t want to relive the heartache.

Seth Landau is a model, occasional guitarist, and aspiring painter. He’s quirky, flighty, and wise beyond his years. Life has taught him some tough lessons, then given him opportunities he never dreamed of. He’s learned to appreciate the fragility of life and to express it in his work. Seth’s flare for the absurd combined with a supple mind and a beautiful body are too alluring for Paul to ignore. Against his best intentions, Paul is drawn to the younger man whose particular brand of crazy challenges Paul to accept that things aren’t always as they seem. Sometimes taking a chance is better than being safe.

Starting from June 1, 2015, I will daily feature authors attending the three conventions I will join, Euro Pride in Munich (July), UK Meet in Bristol (September) and GRL in San Diego (October).

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Jenna Kendrick: Jenna Kendrick writes male/male new adult and contemporary romance, her favorite genre to read. She lives in Upstate New York, where she spends the better part of the year trying to stay warm and dry. When she’s not writing, she reads, has lost count of the number of times she’s watched The Princess Bride and The Avengers, and drinks more coffee and tea than she’d care to admit. She shares her home office with her dog, Tally, and her cats, Loki and Tamiris. The rest of the house is also occupied by her husband and two children.

Jenna spent most of her class time in high school writing bad poetry and short stories in which her teachers were the villains. She began writing in earnest in college. She developed an interest in reading romance novels when she spent a semester in Spain with a friend who had filled half her suitcase with historical romances (the other half held two changes of clothes and chocolate bars). Those books proved to be a gateway to contemporary, paranormal, and all manner of other sub-genres, but she found her true home as both a reader and writer when she read her first male/male romance, Collision Course by K.A. Mitchell.

In addition to fiction, Jenna also writes nonfiction technical books under another name. But writing male/male romance is her favorite way to spend all those rainy days.

Starting from June 1, 2015, I will daily feature authors attending the three conventions I will join, Euro Pride in Munich (July), UK Meet in Bristol (September) and GRL in San Diego (October).

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Kendall McKenna: Kendall McKenna is an author of M/M erotic romance novels featuring well-developed characters, complex stories, and realistic action sequences.

Kendall McKenna is the MLR Press 2013 Author of the Year. Her first work of fiction was written at the worldly age of nine, and was a transformative work that expanded on the story told in a popular song of the time.

She tried her hand at vampire and cowboy fiction, winning high school poetry and short story contests along the way. It wasn’t until she discovered the world of m/m erotic fiction and found her stride with cops, Marines and muscle cars, that she felt inspired to share her stories with readers who enjoy the same things.

Putting herself through college by working in a newly-created HIV testing clinic in her local Department of Health, introduced Kendall to the gay and lesbian community. Understanding and empathy has made her a lifetime advocate of GLBT issues.

A brief bout of unemployment gave Kendall the time and focus she needed to finally produce a novel worth submitting for publication. Her first novel, Brothers In Arms , introduced the world to her authentic military stories and characters. Kendall’s second novel, Strength of the Pack, was nominated for a 2013 Bookie Award, by Author’s After Dark.

Kendall was born and raised in Southern California, where she still lives and works. A non-conventional relationship has kept her happy for the last decade. Her four dogs enjoy it when she writes, as she sits still long enough for them to curl up around her.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Melanie Hansen:

Hello! I’m Melanie Hansen, and I’ll be attending my second GRL this October, although it will be my first time as a published author. My second novel, Signs of Life, was released on September 28th, and I posted on my blog a couple of weeks ago about my experience licensing a pic of gorgeous Cory Zwierzynski, Andrew Christian underwear model, for the cover of that book. It was painless, and easy, and I was surprised at how accommodating this large, multi-million dollar company was to me.

Today I’m so excited to announce that Cory himself will be at GRL 2015 to sign the cover of Signs of Life!
This was definitely another case of IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK! Again, I figured Drew LaQuang would laugh in my face, but already knowing how nice he is, I went for it without any hesitation. His response? “I’m sure I can get Cory to do it.” It was that easy!
Since I wanted to get to know Cory a bit better before October, I posed a series of 10 interview questions to him recently, and he was gracious enough to sit down with me and answer them.

We started with the basics:

I first fell in love with your work when I saw the Andrew Christian "Kiss" video.
How were you discovered by Andrew Christian?
I was visiting some friends in LA and Andrew Christian happened to come over to my friend’s place. After meeting him, he asked me if I would be interested in modeling for him.

How long have you been working as an Andrew Christian exclusive model?
It will be 2 years in November.

What's your favorite part about working for Andrew Christian?
Being able to travel around the world.

Then I got a little more in-depth about what it’s like to be an Andrew Christian model, and there were a couple of “oh no” moments:

As an underwear model, there has to have been a few embarrassing moments during the course of your career. Can you tell us about one?
I jumped into a pool for a shoot and when I got out the underwear was see-through.

You've gotten to travel a lot, to different appearances and events. What's your best memory?
My best memory would have to be when I was in Italy and did a few wine tastings in the vineyard.

Now tell us about your worst memory!
Worst memory would have to be when I was on my way to the airport from an event and my wallet fell out in the car and I didn’t realize it until I got to security. It almost ended up with me missing my flight. The driver was nice enough to drive all the way back in time to return it.

It's time to get a little personal  Where are you from, and what's your family like? Brothers, sisters, pets?
I’m from Pittsburgh PA. I have one older brother and he has 3 kids of his own. My mom has two dogs, a miniature greyhound and a shih tzu.

(And aww, Uncle Cory! Makes my heart melt.)

On your days off, what is your favorite thing to do? What are your hobbies?
Well, sleep in, of course. Maybe the beach or a nice pool day.

And now he shows us a snarky sense of humor. Gotta love it:

How about your ideal date? If money wasn’t an object and you could go anywhere and do anything with that special someone, what would it be?
My ideal date would have to be April 25th because it’s not too cold or not too hot. All you need is a light jacket. Lol, just kidding.
My ideal date would have to be a nice dinner and a walk on the beach at night. If money wasn’t an object we would travel to Australia and New Zealand.

And finally, what I’ve been waiting for, to ask him about his appearance at my GRL Supporting Author signing:

And last but not least, you're coming to sign your hot book cover during GayRomLit in San Diego on October 15. I can't wait! What can we expect from your appearance there? Will you bring some Andrew Christian giveaways?
One hell of a good time! And of course there will be AC giveaways.

So there you have it! Cory Z. is smart, and sexy, and so very nice. If you’re in San Diego on October 15, please come out to meet him! Even if you’re not attending GRL, the Supporting Author signing event is open to the public! Keep an eye on my Twitter, @MelJoyAZ, for information on the time and location of the signing. There will be a limited number of Signs of Life paperbacks for sale at the Dreamspinner table on-site, but to be sure you don’t miss out, here is the link for where it can be purchased beforehand:

Along with the Andrew Christian hats and undies he will bring along to give away, he is always happy to pose for pictures, so if you’re around, come out to see him…and me, of course! I’ll be there with some awesome swag of my own, and I’d love to meet each and every one of you.
See you in San Diego.

Successful lawyer Jeremy Speer has it all—a loving husband, a beautiful home, and a cherished dream that’s about to become reality. He’s learned not to take happiness for granted, meeting the challenges of life and love head-on with unwavering commitment and fierce devotion. A series of tragic events leave Jeremy shattered, adrift on a sea of unimaginable pain. He’s able to piece his life back together, but instead of embracing it, he merely exists, using isolation and punishing physical exertion to keep the world at bay.
High school teacher Kai Daniels has a heart for at-risk kids—he was one himself, and a teenage brush with the law and some troubled years behind bars left him scarred inside and out. With courage, hard work, and the support of friends, he’s built a fulfilling life that leaves no time for a relationship.
An intense encounter with Kai at a gay club ignites a spark in Jeremy that he thought was extinguished forever, but he’s unwilling to destroy the fragile peace he’s managed to create, and he leaves Kai humiliated and disappointed. Things should have ended there, but a bizarre occurrence brings the two together in a way neither of them expected.

About the Author: Melanie Hansen has spent time in Texas and Florida prisons…for work. She’s been in a room with a 17-year-old mass murderer who was also one of the most soft-spoken and polite teenagers she’s ever met. After a 13-year career as a court reporter, she can tell many stories both hilarious and heartbreaking.
She grew up with an Air Force dad, and ended up marrying a Navy man. After living and working all over the country, she hopes to bring these rich and varied life experiences to her stories about people finding love amidst real-life struggles.
Melanie left the stressful world of the courtroom behind and now enjoys a rewarding career transcribing for a deaf student. She currently lives in Arizona with her husband and two sons.

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is J.R. Barten: J.R. Barten feels like she’s been researching her career as a writer since she was a teenager. At a neighbor's garage sale in the 1980s, she discovered romance novels and offered the woman a quarter for the entire box. From that time on, she would go to her room claiming she had homework to do, and proceed to read book after book from her stash. She is a hopeless romantic who believes love is love--end of story. Her passion for M/M pairings started with writing fanfiction for TV couples. That kick-started her muse, and soon she was creating her very own characters.

J.R., or Jen, as most call her, was born and raised in Iowa and now lives in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. She is grateful for her wife, family and friends, coffee, the two best rescue dogs, and especially for the many authors who give generously of themselves every time they write a story. Thank you for showing us the way.

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is B.G. Thomas: B.G. Thomas lives in Kansas City with his husband for nearly fifteen years and was legally married in 2014. Ehey have a fabulous little dog, Sarah Jane. He sees his wonderful daughter just often enough to miss her when she isn't there! He has a romantic soul and is extraordinarily lucky to have many friends.

He loves science fiction & fantasy, horror, romance and more, has gone to SF&F conventions his entire adult life, and been lucky enough to meet many of his favorite writers. He is a “Star Trek” and Joss Whedon fan from way back!

He has written all his life, it is where he finds his joy. In the 90’s, he wrote for gay magazines, but stopped because they wanted him to cut out story and romance, and write only sex.

Then through a few friends, he discovered the growing market of M/M Romance and was thrilled beyond words. FINALLY, a way to write the stories he always wanted to write. Adventure, romantic comedy, science fiction, and more, but with gay characters. And he wouldn't have to fade to black! People wanted to read the erotic as well. Plot and sex! HURRAY!

B.G. Thomas very much believes in The Law of Attraction and that "thoughts become things." A lot of things all started happening at once. He heard the words, "Leap, and the net will appear," and something re-kindled inside. He sent out a story and was thrilled when it was almost immediately accepted.

He believes that we are divine expressions of the Universe, each and everyone. "It is never too late!,” he states. “Pursue your dreams! They will come true!"

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Jaime Samms:

People always say writing is a lonely activity. A solo one. And to some degree, that’s true. No one else is going to write my words down if I don’t do it. But from concept to finished product, a lot of people end up influencing what I do.

Maybe they inspired the book with just the right picture. (Mary. Michelle. I’m looking at you.) Or offered a much needed sounding board when I hit a problem spot in the plot. So may other writers have filled this need for me over the years.
Even non-writers who knew more about my subject matter were invaluable to me in getting details just right. Not to mention editors, cover artists, productions teams. It really does, in the end, take a village to anything truly worthwhile.

That’s sort of what a convention like GRL is all about. It brings that far-flung village of ours under one roof for a few days. Because let’s face it. Without readers, no book can truly meet its full potential.
Meeting readers is an amazing opportunity. I never really get tired of talking about “my guys”, even the ones long nestled between the covers of their books after I’ve moved on as a writer. It’s fascinating to meet and talk to a reader who saw one of my characters in a completely different light than I had first imagined him.
It’s always with mixed emotions I approach this con. I’ll be honest. I’m not a social girl. At the heart of me, I like my fictional characters, my keyboard, and my coloured pencils. It’s a feat for me to fly hundreds of miles to meet people who have only ever been names on a screen. But that’s the thing, right? Your names belong to real, breathing members of my village. In the end, despite my wailing and wringing of nervous hands, I never regret going because we are all there for the same reason. We love what we do and what we read.

Singer Coby Kennedy and his drummer twin, Bruce, have a band called Patchwork Heaven. They have been rising steadily up the country music charts, but unfortunately, that rise has attracted unwanted attention. Faced with anonymous letters, sinister gifts, and the wanton destruction of their personal space, they hire The Detail, a specialized security firm. Coby never anticipated Gregor, The Detail's owner and his personal guard, would be quite so intriguing.

As the stalker gets closer and more violent and questions pile up, Gregor fears his past might get in the way of him finding who is threatening his client when he becomes suspect number one. Even though Coby is convinced Gregor is not behind the threat, Gregor is not sure he's the right man to keep Coby safe, either from the stalker, or from his own interest in the singer.

About the Author: Jaime has been writing for various publishers since the fall of 2008, although she's been writing for herself far longer. Often asked why men; what’s so fascinating about writing stories about men falling in love, she's never come up with a clear answer. Just that these are the stories that she loves to read, so it seemed to make sense if she was going to write, they would also be the stories she wrote.

These days, you can find plenty of free reading on her website. She also writes for Freya’s Bower, Jupiter Gardens, and Total E-Bound.

Spare time, when it can be found rolled into a ball at the back of the dryer or cavorting with the dust bunnies in the corners, she's probably spending crocheting, drawing, gardening (weather permitting, of course, since she is Canadian!) or watching movies. She has a day job, as well, which she loves, and two kids, but thankfully, also a wonderful husband who shoulders more than his fair share of household and child care responsibilities.

She graduated some time ago from college with a Fine Arts diploma, and a major in textile arts, which basically qualifies her to draw pictures and create things with string and fabric. One always needs an official slip of paper to fall back on after all....

Tristan has never been what someone would call a social guy. Like the alligator he shares his spirit with, he prefers being alone. Now, after enduring decades of forced isolation as an animal attraction in a curiosity show, Tristan is even more reclusive than ever. He lives mainly in animal form, swimming in the large pond on the gargoyle’s estate. When he helps kidnap his abuser, Bud Wallice, Tristan decides interrogating the bastard is a great reason to finally interact with others.

Eventually, Bud is reported missing by his wife, and the trail leads to the gargoyle’s estate. Tristan meets Detective Collin DeSoto, who is looking into the disappearance. Tristan immediately recognizes the man as his mate, and while the sex between them is explosive, that’s the only easy thing between them. Collin isn’t out to his incredibly large family, and he doesn’t approve of how Tristan handles Bud. Can the pair resolve their differences, or will Tristan end up returning to his pond…alone?

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Jaime Reese: Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

Until he meets his new boss, Ty Calloway, a man who ticks off every box on Cole’s list of interests. A sought-after restorer and customizer of exotic and collectible cars, Ty had enough confidence to command what he wanted in life, until one fateful night changed everything. Almost two years later, he’s slowly rebuilding his life with great control. He’s defied the odds and works tirelessly to be the man he once was—but he still feels broken. Cole’s candor and unfiltered personality awaken Ty’s barely-remembered desire to greet each new day with a smile, while Ty’s unwavering acceptance of Cole’s quirks and brash humor makes Cole feel as if he fits in for the first time in far too long. When a nemesis threatens Ty’s personal restoration and the things he holds dear, Cole is determined to protect their relationship, even if that means sacrificing everything he’s worked so hard to achieve. But Ty will have to let his guard down, surrender control, and admit he needs Cole first, even if that puts himself at risk of breaking beyond repair.

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Zathyn Priest: Zathyn Priest is an Australian writer with severe vampiric tendencies. Absolutely convinced the sun could turn him to a pile of ash, Zathyn prefers to write under the cover of darkness. This serves two purposes, with the first being the afore mentioned sunlight danger, and the second being the fact that nighttime means no annoying phones ringing or people knocking at the door.

Zathyn has written three published novels using this strange moonlight technique. The Curtis Reincarnation, which is now available in paperback. The Slayer’s Apprentice, soon to be available in paperback. And, Liquid Glass, soon to be available from Torquere Press. He has also written two short fiction works. Left of Center, available from Torquere Press, and One of Those Days, an eBook downloadable from - because even though Zathyn has vampiric traits, he’s actually quite a nice guy and wrote One of Those Days as a freebie.

When Zathyn isn’t writing, or running for cover before sunlight turns him to cinders, he likes to pretend he’s really good at playing his MIDI keyboard. Thankfully, Zathyn is a conscientious neighbour. Rather than drive the street insane with repeated renditions of Greensleeves, he uses headphones because, let’s face it, no matter how beautiful Greensleeves is, most people don’t want to hear it one hundred times a night.

Zathyn lives with a retired greyhound called Chrissy, who lives the life of luxury sleeping away most of her days on the sofa and generally only waking up when there’s food around or if it’s time for a walk. There’s also a cat called Fran, who doesn’t like Chrissy very much and feels she should reiterate this fact by occasionally smacking her in the face. Just when you thought the household couldn’t get any stranger, there’s a duck - or drake, he’d probably rather be called - named Charlie who originally lived on a farm, but moved in with Zathyn after a fox ate all his girlfriends and was eying Charlie for dessert.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Tara Lain:

Love is Love is Love is Love.

"Hi! I’m Tara Lain and I write the Beautiful Boys of Romance. I’ll be a Featured Author at GRL and am getting so excited I’m having trouble focusing on the gazillion thing I have to do before I go. Poppy Dennison asked me what I was wearing to the Luau. Hmmm? Okay, add that to the list!

As we approach this GRL, I think it’s fun to consider how MM romance has blossomed in the years since I attended my first GRL in 2011 – the first GRL there ever was. That get together in New Orleans had a tight camaraderie between people who were damned well going to express their love for a type of romance few people even recognized existed. We were 100 rebels banded together in a beautiful old hotel full of ghosts.

I think about 2012. For me, that was the year my book Fire Balls was published. It was my first bestseller. It hit number one on the Gay Romance Bestseller list and stayed for days. It was in the top 10 for weeks. It was a happy rollercoaster ride for me, still a novice author. BUT, I look back and realize that book barely dropped below 1000 in the Kindle store even though it was the bestselling gay romance.

Today is a whole different story. Gay romances regularly drop into the Top 100 books on Amazon – not on a bestseller list, the whole store! What an accomplishment this is, and what a validation for the universality of the subjects we write about, the talent of the authors who express these ideas, and the passion of the readers who champion them. We go into GRL 2015, not as a fringe subgenre, but as a meaningful variation on the great themes of romance. I think, of course, that gay romance is more accepted because gay people are more accepted, but I also think that gay people are more accepted, in perhaps a small part, because of gay romance.

A few years ago, many of us set as a goal that gay romance would step out of its closet and claim its place as great romance that happens to have same-sex lovers. While we might not be there yet, we’ve made a big leap in four years. Here’s to what the future holds.

My first day at GRL, October 14th, will be the (re) release day of my fairy tale romance, Sinders and Ash. This is the first book in a new series called The Pennymaker Tales. The second book, Driven Snow, will be out Nov 25th. Here’s a nibble from Sinders and Ash.

Available NOW for Pre-Order at Dreamspinner Press --

Housekeeper Mark Sintorella (Sinders) works diligently at a resort hotel while designing clothes anonymously, hoping to get into fashion school. Then his carefully planned life is upended with the arrival of Ashford Armitage, son of the fifth richest man in America—and the most beautiful guy Mark has ever seen. Ash must find a wife or he’ll lose his grandfather’s inheritance, and he settles on Bitsy Fanderel. But secretly Ash is gay, and the guy who cleans the fireplaces sets his heart ablaze.
Further stirring the pot is the little elf of a man, Carstairs Pennymaker, who has Mark wearing his own designs and masquerading as a girl to impress the fashion investors in the hotel. When the clock strikes twelve, two beautiful princesses line up for the wedding—but one isn’t a woman. Will the slipper fit? Only Mr. Pennymaker knows for sure.

There is underlying beauty in destruction….

Miah Thade, Finn Reese, and Ritchie Meyer are Resonator, an indie rock band with an edge―best friends turned rock stars, known as the Detroit 3. When Evin Rene appears in their life, none of them can deny he belongs with Rez.

They may have named their first album Ruin Porn because people get off on seeing how Detroit went from deeply loved to thoroughly forsaken, but they’re determined to prove that blight isn’t the entire story and blight isn’t always ugly.

Ritchie, Miah, Finn, and Evin take Resonator to a level no one anticipates. But no prosperity comes without sacrifice, and no secret stays hidden without a trail of lies. As Rez’s fame grows, so does the intensity between two of its members… as well as their potential for destruction.

Evin and Finn are about to discover the underlying beauty in their ruin porn.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Charlie Cochet: Hello all! Thank you so much for joining me today! A huge thank you to Elisa for hosting me as part of the GRL Blog Tour. This will be my fourth GRL experience and my second as a Featured Author. Going to GRL always requires a huge amount of preparation for me. I have a special GRL To-Do list that includes everything from wardrobe changes to swag preparation.
As a full-time writer, my at home wardrobe is very casual, so conferences are always exciting for me because I get to wear all the fun stuff I don’t get to wear while sitting behind my PC at home. So a few weeks before GRL when the full schedule is up, I print it out and I prepare my wardrobe changes. I set out everything I’m going to wear from my shoes to the color of my rose. Many of you are probably already familiar with my hair roses. I never leave home without them. So I arrange all my outfits and there are usually about two wardrobe changes in a day. Then there’s my costume for the costume party.
Aside the wardrobe prep, there’s the swag prep. That starts a few months before. Every year I have different pieces of swag. For many authors, this is one of the toughest parts to figure out. No one wants to have swag that will just get tossed away. Swag can get ridiculously expensive, so it’s a tough decision to make. I approach swag the way I do movie merchandise. I love movies, and when there’s a movie franchise I love, I love having little items from that movie, but items that I’ll end up using. For example, the lightsaber chopsticks Dex and Sloane have weren’t written into the book just because Dex is crazy about Star Wars. I actually own those chopsticks and they are so amazing. Whether it’s an Avengers or Captain America messenger bag, to a Sherlock or Agent Carter T-shirt, I love that kind of thing. So for my book swag, I look at it the same way.
When it comes time to coming up with swag, I look at my books and I try to think of fun “merchandise” that fit the books. Something a reader who enjoys the series would want to take home. With the THIRDS swag isn’t too difficult to come up with, but it is challenging to get the items I want and the quantities. I also have to consider the fact I need to ship these items. This year I have some cute and fun swag. I’ve got black shopper/tote bags with the Destructive Delta logo on them, THIRDS buttons, scented gummy bear highlighters, bracelets with charms, and character trading cards. A few of these items have limited amounts and not all will be on the swag table. The characters cards I’ll have with my at author events like the author lounge and signing for readers who’d like them, as well as some of the THIRDS Nerds buttons. New this year as well is a character art card with the whole team.
I’m so excited to be attending yet another GRL and can’t wait to meet up with everyone, old friends and new. If you’re attending and you’d like to say hi, don’t be shy. I love talking to folks!

THIRDS: Book Five

As the fiercest Defense Agent at the THIRDS, Destructive Delta’s Ash Keeler is foul-mouthed and foul-tempered. But his hard-lined approach always yields results, evident by his recent infiltration of the Coalition. Thanks to Ash’s skills and the help of his team, they finally put an end to the murdering extremist group for good, though not before Ash takes a bullet to save teammate Cael Maddock. As a result, Ash’s secrets start to surface, and he can no longer ignore what’s in his heart.

Cael Maddock is no stranger to heartache. As a Recon Agent for Destructive Delta, he has successfully maneuvered through the urban jungle that is New York City, picking up his own scars along the way. Yet nothing he’s ever faced has been more of a challenge than the heart of Ash Keeler, his supposedly straight teammate. Being in love isn’t the only danger he and Ash face as wounds reopen and new secrets emerge, forcing them to question old loyalties.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Charlie Cochet is an author by day and artist by night. Always quick to succumb to the whispers of her wayward muse, no star is out of reach when following her passion. From adventurous agents and sexy shifters, to society gentlemen and hardboiled detectives, there’s bound to be plenty of mischief for her heroes to find themselves in, and plenty of romance, too!
Currently residing in Central Florida, Charlie is at the beck and call of a rascally Doxiepoo bent on world domination. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found reading, drawing, or watching movies. She runs on coffee, thrives on music, and loves to hear from readers.

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Cherie Noel: Butcher, baker, candlestick maker…ummm, eww, every chance I get, and I surely would if these damn characters would ever shut up. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida and raised…er, is all over the damn place a sufficiently descriptive term? No? Then how about this? Tinker, tailor, Indian chief…Ooooh, especially when smexy men are involved (!), only under duress, and did the cheek-bones give it away?
Seriously? I’ve lived in Washington D.C., Virginia, Upper Michigan, Texas, New York, California, and Alabama in the United States; Hessen in Germany, London in England, Masirah Island in Oman and…sometimes it was in a house, sometimes in a tent, and sometimes anyplace I could find to lay my head.
I’ve been in love with words since before I drew breath, and I don’t see that ever changing. I write stories. Sometimes I write music with them, sometimes they’re poems, and lately, to my great delight, M/M erotic romance. Yum. Smexy man to the second…or third power…now that’s the kinda math I can get behind!!
The hair curls or frizzes as it will, the eyes are green and tend to look in two different directions—no, really—and the rest is subject to change. You know the guy who didn’t know if he was a butterfly dreaming he was a man or a man dreaming he was a butterfly? For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Jet Mykles: As far back as junior high, Jet used to write sex stories for friends involving their favorite pop icons of the time. To this day, she hasn't stopped writing sex, although her knowledge on the subject has vastly improved.

An ardent fan of fantasy and science fiction sagas, Jet prefers to live in a world of imagination where dragons are real, elves are commonplace, vampires are just people with special diets and shape-shifters live next door. In her own mind, she's the spunky heroine who gets the best of everyone and always attracts the lean, muscular lads. She aids this fantasy with visuals created through her other obsession: 3D graphic art. In this area, as in writing, Jet's self-taught and thoroughly entranced, and now regularly uses this art to illustrate her stories or her stories to expand upon her art. Only recently, through the wonders of the digital age, has Jet, a self-proclaimed hermit, been able to really share this work with others.

In real life, Jet lives in southern California with her life partner, his daughter and father and too many cats. She has a bachelor's degree in acting, but her loathing of auditions has kept her out of the limelight. So she turned to computers and currently works in product management for a software company, because even in real life, she can't help but want to create something out of nothing.

So when the supposedly straight movie star comes onto him, Noble is floored. Never one to ignore the allure of a pretty young man, Noble can't resist and doesn't even try. Why should he? Even if it has to be a secret, he’d be crazy to pass up a night of sexytimes with the one man everyone wants.

But one night turns into two, then blossoms into a friendship with the potential for so much more. If that’s what Noble was after, which he's not. But Foxy gets under Noble’s skin until he cares way too much. Because there can never be anything but sex between them. To the world, Foxy is straight and Noble is anything but.

Forced into early retirement from his career as a SWAT officer for the city of Detroit, James Deacon knew that when he failed it would be a fall of epic proportions. He’s been living life by the tips of his fingers for over twenty years, and his new gig organizing a group of misfit military types into a functioning team—including his reluctant ex-fiancée—won’t return him to stable ground anytime soon. Trevor Barrow has been on the move for the last seven years—hitting the road when relationships became too real or too much work. He’s home now, working in the hazardous world of bike messengers in the Motor City, and the only one of his eight siblings who knows he’s returned is his sister Cat. It’s not as if reconnecting with them matters anyway, because it’s likely he’ll be gone again soon. Both men are lugging some heavy baggage, but when they chance upon each other in a dive bar it’s hard to deny their flaws are more like symbiotic quirks. Trevor’s backpedaling instincts and Deacon’s dance-dance party past may just be intersecting at a time when things are about to get explosive in Detroit.

Twin Temptations by Carol Lynne

Book five in the Good-Time Boys series

Although Sonny Good still suffers repercussions from a gunshot wound to his head, he refuses to let them interfere with his life. He does his best to hide what he can from his partner, Garron, in an attempt to gain more independence. When a car accident forces Sonny's newest health concern to the foreground, he begins to slide back into the pit of despair he's worked so hard to crawl out of. What use will he be to his family and friends if he can't lead a normal life?

When a seizure leaves Sonny in need of emergency care, a CT Scan reveals the cause of his continued blackouts. Faced with a risky surgery, Sonny begins to wonder if his loved ones would've been better off if he'd died the day of the shooting.

Faced with the prospect of losing the man he loves, Garron is determined to show Sonny what he has to live for.

The Good-Time Boys series

The Good boys—Sonny, Rawley, Ranger and Ryker—were hell-raisers growing up, but they eventually settled into adulthood…sort of.

When tragedy strikes, the brothers come together to take care of one of their own. In the process of rediscovering the bonds of brotherhood, the Good boys learn to accept what makes each of them unique.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Jeff Erno: As is the case every year around this time, I’m beginning to count down the days until mid-October when I’ll again meet with authors, writers, and friends of gay romance literature at the GRL Conference. This year I’m particularly excited because I had to cancel my plans to attend last year due to an unforeseen family emergency. Also, I’ve wanted to visit the West Coast of the United States all my life, and this will be my very first opportunity.
I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that my anticipation wasn’t accompanied by feelings of anxiety, mainly because I don’t usually handle crowds well. My first conference in New Orleans proved so rewarding, though, that I’ve been eager to bite the bullet each year since and plow through my trepidation to face my phobia head-on. And this year I’ve gone out on a limb a bit by signing up as a featured author, which means I’ll be doing an author reading.
For those who might not yet know who I am or who might be unfamiliar with my work, I currently have a rather eclectic back list of about forty published works, mostly novels, that spans several literary sub-genres. I started writing amateur erotic stories in the late nineties and posted them on a free website. Though these stories weren’t exactly fan fiction, some similarities exist between my experience and that of other authors who started out in the fan fic community. Two of the serial stories I posted to this amateur site eventually became full-length published novels. I released the first of these stories, Dumb Jock, back in 2009 as a self-published title. Later, the story was picked up by Dreamspinner Press and became book one of a six-book series.
Since then, I’ve authored several young adult stories, a variety of m/m contemporary romances, a few paranormal, a sci-fi romance, a crime-detective series, a vampire series, some gay fiction stories, and some BDSM. Most recently, Wayward Ink Publishing released the first book of a series I’ve titled Working Class which features an ensemble cast of working-class characters within a retail setting. Book one, Speedy Rewards, is set within the environment of a retail convenience store. Upcoming stories will feature supermarket employees and fast food workers.
And releasing this October, right around the time the GRL Conference convenes, is a brand new, just-completed story called Baggage. Baggage features the main character Chandler, who at 38 years old finds himself single. His brother Raymond, who suffers numerous health problems, lives with him, and Chandler struggles with his own array of psychological issues. Mired in grief from the multiple deaths of close family members, he recedes into himself, wrought with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. When early one morning he encounters his neighbor, 25 year old Marcus, Chandler's life is flipped on end. Nothing about a relationship with this young man makes sense. For one thing, he's...well... YOUNG. He's also biracial and has all kinds of tattooed muscles! The streetwise Marcus introduces Chandler to an entirely different lifestyle, pulling the would-be hermit from his shell, albeit kicking and screaming. But how long can such a relationship last, and what about Raymond? Chandler fears that a guy like Marcus, seemingly perfect in every way, won't be able to truly accept Chandler with all his baggage. Then an unexpected bombshell detonates and Chandler learns some unsavory details about Marcus, who he really is, and what he's done in the past. Finally, it's Chandler who must decide if he can accept Marcus's baggage.
I’m confident this year’s conference will be every bit as exciting and rewarding as I anticipate it to be. It will be awesome to see so many of the authors, readers, and publishers I’ve grown to love over the years. And I’ll be thrilled to meet some new people.

About the Author: Jeff Erno currently lives in southern Michigan. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and human resources. Jeff began writing stories in the late 1990's and initially posted them to a free online amateur website. The positive feedback he received from readers encouraged him to continue, and this eventually led to the publication of his first novel, Dumb Jock. Erno has subsequently published several other novels.

His greatest passion in life is writing, and he hopes to be able to continue sharing his work with readers worldwide.

For the GRL in San Diego, October 15-18, 2015, today author is Amy Lane: Amy Lane has two kids in college, two gradeschoolers in soccer, two cats, and two Chi-who-whats at large. She lives in a crumbling crapmansion with most of the children and a bemused spouse. She also has too damned much yarn, a penchant for action adventure movies, and a need to know that somewhere in all the pain is a story of Wuv, Twu Wuv, which she continues to believe in to this day! She writes fantasy, urban fantasy, and m/m romance--and if you accidentally make eye contact, she'll bore you to tears with why those three genres go together. She'll also tell you that sacrifices, large and small, are worth the urge to write.

Rico Gonzalves-Macias didn't expect to fall in love during his internship in New York―and he didn’t expect the boss’s son to out them both and get him fired either. When he returns to Sacramento stunned and heartbroken, he finds his cousin, Adam, and Adam's boyfriend, Finn, haven't just been house-sitting―they've made his once sterile apartment into a home.

When Adam gets him a job interview with the adorable, magnetic, practically perfect Derek Huston, Rico feels especially out of his depth. Derek makes it no secret that he wants Rico, but Rico is just starting to figure out that he’s a beginner at the really important stuff and doesn’t want to jump into anything with both feet.

Derek is a both-feet kind of guy. But he’s also made mistakes of his own and doesn’t want to pressure Rico into anything. Together they work to find a compromise between instant attraction and long-lasting love, and while they’re working, Rico gets a primer in why family isn’t always a bad idea. He needs to believe Derek can be his family before Derek’s formidable patience runs out―because even a practically perfect boyfriend is capable of being hurt.
