Wallace Hamilton (1941 - September 3, 1983)

Wallace Hamilton, a novelist and playwright, died in Beth Israel Medical Center Thursday, on September 3, 1983, one week after injuring himself in a fall at his home in Greenwich Village. He was 64 years old.

His four novels were ''Christopher and Gay,'' ''Coming Out,'' ''David and Olivet'' and ''Kevin.'' He wrote 14 plays, which were produced in New York, Los Angeles and other cities. Among them were ''The Burning of the Lepers'' and ''Midnight Cry.'' Mr. Hamilton also reviewed books for The Village Voice and other publications.

Mr. Hamilton was born in New York City and was a 1941 graduate of Harvard. He was a conscientious objector during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, three sons, Hugh Hamilton of Berkeley, Calif., Naudain Hamilton of New York City and Geoff Hamilton of Honolulu, and a sister, Katherine Hamilton Hobbs of Old Greenwich, Conn.
