Orange by Thom Jaymes
This a short and somewhat sad tale. Ralph is a clown, but he is not happy like he shows on stage. He is alone and on the brink of alcoholism. He doesn't have friend. Neither the big tiger, Kadin, who performs with him on stage, even if the tiger is always gentle with him and always purrs when he sees him.One night, alone e restless as always, he goes to check on his tiger and enters his cage. And suddenly his tiger shapeshifts in a man, an extremely attractive man. A man who wants him and only him as his mate. But one night is all they will have and the morning after Kadin will return to his cage. But this time he will be happy, cause his clown has set him free, even if for only one night.
In a brief tale, Thom Jaymes manages to create a world of fantasy and love, with an undertone of melancholia.
