Fallen Idol by Shelley Munro
Rafi and Bob were childhood friends, but the Bob has fallen in love with Fifi, a really bitch, and has entered the Sex Idol contest, and Rafi has bought his little spaceship and has became a good captain. After two years apart, Rafi goes to visit Bob and find him in a rather pitiful state: after an injury during training, Fifi has dumped him full of debts and he has became addicted to alcohol. Rafi can't leave him in such condition and brings him on his spaceshift. Here Bob can regain his perfect body and the long lasting love of Rafi for Bob flares hotter than before. But Rafi has never confessed to his friend his feelings, and when Bob asks him to help training and then also to perform with him on stage, Rafi is not sure to be able to hide his love.
The story is enjoyble and flows smooth. The idea of the Sex Idol competition, like a wrestling league or something similar, is a good one. The love between Rafi and Bob is strong and steady. There are not harsh feeling and bad break up. Like I said, all goes smooth.
Despite the argument, sex is not kinky or extreme, but very basic and earthly. The futuristic elements are not so strong and there is a little tinge of humor on the story, in the form of the crew of the spaceship, but it's not very marked.
