Do you know that England is a very little country?
I have to tell you this, cause it's pretty unbelievable...
Every two weeks I post on Rosa is for Romance about Romance History, featuring a romance author of the past. Next January I want to post about Juliet Dymoke, an historical romance author who wrote mainly medieval novels revisiting the History of England.
On the net I have found very little info. First I made a research on Google for "Juliet Dymoke" and I found her booklist and her married name de Schanschieff, and also that she was born in 1919 and probably dead before 2001. Her husband was Hugo de Schanschieff and she lived in a manor called Heronswood, Forest Row. Nothing more.
So I made a research for "de Schanschieff" and I found that a Patricia Juliet de Schanschieff, daughter of Hugo de Schanschieff, married Kenneth Cavendish Fitzroy of Forest Row in 1980 and then died in 1989.
I have thought: it's possible that Patricia was also the daughter of Juliet? Juliet was the second name of Patricia, she was daughter to Hugo and Juliet was married to Hugo, and Patricia's husband was from Forest Row, where Juliet has lived.
I have some connections in England, and in particularly I have interviewed and then met in Italy, Liz Fielding, an English romance author who is a Romantic Novelist Association Member like Juliet Dymoke. So I have written to her asking if she has more info about Juliet. And what she answered me? That she knew very well Juliet's daughter, Patricia, and that she also went to her engagement party, and that she has met several time her parents, Juliet and Hugo. And she gives me some more info that I will use for my post, but what it still surprise me, is that, I think there is a lot of English romance authors who are member of the RNA, but I happen to know a person who really has met Juliet Dymoke...
