Shelly's nine novels for Avon and Dell have since earned a place on national bestseller lists and praise from such diverse media as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Locus and Publishers Weekly, who have called her work "innovative," "exciting" and "powerful." There are more than one million copies of her books in print. She also enjoys worldwide popularity with translations of her novels published in China, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia and Switzerland.

In 2003, another of Shelly's dreams came true when she celebrated the birth of her long-awaited first baby. She now writes about parenting, health, and business for national and regional magazines. She's also working on a non-fiction book about women who've overcome infertility.
