Chase (Bayou Shifters) by Kira Stone

The first enstalment in a series (I think) it's about Chase, a 24 years old guy who is approaching his first shifting in a werewolf. He has chosen to isolate himself in the Louisiana Bayou and here he has found the company of a big black wolf. The big bad wolf is really a werewolf himself, Casper, and he is waiting for Chase to be mature to change and in wolf form to claim him. But Chase is not of the idea to experiment the "puppy love" and he is a stubborn man-pup.

The story is not so long, less then 100 pages, and it starts when Chase has just left his home and his former life after having feeling a sudden urge to connect with the wild aspect of his life. I feel like I have lost something, but maybe, with the next enstalment in the series, we will understand better the story.

Casper is a wounded werewolf. He doesn't want to care too much for another being, but the strong attraction he feels for Chase can't be denied. We don't know how he was wounded or by who. And we don't know if he has loved and lost before. And for Chase, we only know that he has left his home after some strange events occure in his life (like involontary wound a partner during sex).

So, I think, we have to wait for the next chapter to find some answers...
