The Big Gay Musical (2009) directed by Casper Andreas & Fred M. Caruso

Directors: Casper Andreas
Fred M. Caruso

Writer: Fred M. Caruso (divinely inspired through)

Genre: Musical

Plot: Paul and Eddie have just begun previews for the new Off-Broadway musical "Adam and Steve Just the Way God Made 'Em." Their lives strangely mirror the characters they are playing. Paul is looking for the perfect man and Eddie is dealing with how his sexuality and faith can mix. After yet another disastrous dating experience, Paul has an epiphany. He is done dating and just wants to be a slut like the sexy chorus boys that share his dressing room. Eddie has to tell his parents that he's gay and is starring in a show that calls the bible the "Breeder's Informational Book of Living Examples". Eddie comes out to his family and Paul goes on Manhunt. Eddie's parents are destroyed by the news and Paul can't even have a good one-night stand. But after musical numbers with scantly clad tap dancing angels, a retelling of Genesis, tele-evangelists, a camp that attempts to turn gay kids straight, and a bunch of showtunes, everyone realizes that life gets better once they accept who they really are. And they are just the way God made 'em.

The Rainbow Awards: State of Art

Here we are with the second State of Art for the Rainbow Awards. Please remember that your reference posts for the awards are the Awards Guidelines (http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/993088.html) and the Current Submissions (http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/993937.html). Current Submissions in particular will be always update, so please check it out to see who has already submitted books and in which category. Plus now we have a Jury post with the names of the 65 (at today) wonderful judges: I really think that this year Jury is out of the ordinary, and in a very good way:

http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1011930.html

In the Jury there are 22 authors, 5 editors/publishers, 9 reviewers, 27 readers and our new "category", 3 men borrowed to the publishing market from the show business. Don't tell me that I didn't try to have a Jury as various as possible; and of course, I sometime don't highlight it, but this Jury is very much international.

At today I have 65 judges, considering that they will read 5 books each, and each book will be read by at least 3 judges, in this moment I can assure that 108 books will be read and judge.

As for the Categories/Submission the current situation is:

Gay Coming of Age/Young Adult: 4 submissions
Lesbian Coming of Age/Young Adult: 0 submissions
Bisexual Coming of Age/Young Adult: 0 submissions
Transgender Coming of Age/Young Adult: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 4

Gay Contemporary: 19 submissions
Lesbian Contemporary: 2 submissions
Bisexual Contemporary: 1 submissions
Transgender Contemporary: 1 submissions
Total Submissions: 23

Gay Fantasy: 6 submissions

Transgender Fantasy: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 7

Total Submissions: 8

Gay Mistery/Thriller: 9 submissions
Lesbian Mistery/Thriller: 5 submissions
Bisexual Mistery/Thriller: 1 submissions
Transgender Mistery/Thriller: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 15

Gay Paranormal/Horror: 8 submissions
Lesbian Paranormal/Horror: 3 submissions
Bisexual Paranormal/Horror: 1 submissions
Transgender Paranormal/Horror: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 12

Gay Sci-Fic/Futuristic: 4 submissions
Lesbian Sci-Fic/Futuristic: 0 submissions
Bisexual Sci-Fic/Futuristic: 0 submissions
Transgender Sci-Fic/Futuristic: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 4

Gay Non Fiction: 0 submissions
Lesbian Non Fiction: 0 submissions
Bisexual Non Fiction: 0 submissions
Transgender Non Fiction: 0 submissions
Total Submissions: 0

Remember that, for a Category to "survive", I need at least 5 submissions in the Sub-Genre (Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual); if I don't reach the 5 submissions in the Sub-Genre, I will compact the submissions in the Genre (Coming of Age / Young Adult, Contemporary, Fantasy, Historical, Mystery / Thriller, Paranormal / Horror, Sci-Fic / Futuristic); if I don't reach the 5 submissions neither in this way, the Category will not be eligible for this year Rainbow Awards.
