Jack and AJ had a thing once, but Jack wasn’t ready to settle down. They still work together at the Forestry Service, seeing each other every day, but the situation comes to a head when Jack encounters loose snow out on the trail, and gets caught in an avalanche. Will AJ see things differently after Jack’s brush with death?
Nice novella with an unexpected twist. Cade is a M/M romance writer, Eric one of his readers and a reviewer; after one nice and positive review, Cade sends a thank you message to Eric and they start an online relationship full of innuendos. Then it arrives the day Cade is in the same city as Eric, and of course he asks Eric out for a date, to discover that Eric is on wheelchair. Instead of being disappointed, Cade thinks Eric is even a better man than what he thought, the only problem is that they have only one week to be together.
A young and sensitive Englishman arrive in late XVIII century Canada to take the charge of an isolated post. Actually at 26 years old Jack is not young considering the times, but he is a bit naïve, strange thing considering he is arriving from a previous experience with the East India Company. Jack is also homosexual, something he has long ago admitted, but he has also decided to not act according to it and to remain “chaste”. Something he has to rethink when he finds himself in the only company of Christian, and half-breed voyageur, i.e. the man who has to take Jack to his post in the northern territory of Canada.
