Nice novella with an unexpected twist. Cade is a M/M romance writer, Eric one of his readers and a reviewer; after one nice and positive review, Cade sends a thank you message to Eric and they start an online relationship full of innuendos. Then it arrives the day Cade is in the same city as Eric, and of course he asks Eric out for a date, to discover that Eric is on wheelchair. Instead of being disappointed, Cade thinks Eric is even a better man than what he thought, the only problem is that they have only one week to be together.

I liked the author didn’t downplay Eric’s disability, but at the same time it didn’t drive all Eric’s life; Eric is not a pity case, and Cade doesn’t let it influencing his decisions about their relationship. Aside from giving them something in common (also Cade was in a car accident and the outcome could have been the same as Eric), Eric’s disability is no more part of the plot, there is never once a turning point that could be different if Eric was not in a wheelchair.

The story is a medium long novella, but it has the potential to be a longer novel; the author did rush a little in the end, not sure why, but maybe she has not yet finished with these characters. But I highlight again how I appreciated the sensitive way how she approached Eric’s character and the positive attitude she infuses in him.

you are welcome, it was a nice novella with a not easy theme, but I think the author dealt with it in a good way
