On the Set of "IN BETWEEN MEN"

Last week Max Rhyser (http://www.facebook.com/max.rhyser) filmed Season One of In Between Men. In a recent interview to Instinct Magazine (http://instinctmagazine.com/cover-story/cover-guy-max-rhyser) Max described his recent experience and decision to be part of this new venture:

The world Max is coming out to is just one of many he finds himself attempting to balance. As the resident bisexual in the upcoming Web series In Between Men, Max’s character, Jacob Ross, finds himself bridging the gap between the straight and gay worlds. Off-screen, Max harmonizes an acting career with a spiritual healing practice, his European roots with his American life and a past of excessive revelry with a newfound passion to live in the moment.

It is in this moment that In Between Men’s tagline, “What has you caught between two worlds?” is posed to the articulate performer. The show, which follows four high-powered, masculine “out” men who don’t identify with the clichéd GLBT lifestyle, as Max summarizes it, has garnered much pre-buzz attention, even from the likes of Marc Jacobs and John Bartlett.

When reflecting upon the slogan, Max’s lush eyes, sometimes blue, sometimes green, find direct contact despite the distracting rush hour surging around us at a Lower Manhattan lunchtime hot spot. “That’s the main thing I’ve been struggling with,” he says while standing to usher me up. “Even though acting, writing and directing are spiritual, the business associated with it isn’t.”
