It’s not until Charlie confronts his own parents and realizes he hasn’t come to terms with their rejection that he fully understands what Josh has to lose. But Josh is Charlie’s hero, and Josh will do anything to prove to Charlie that he doesn’t need his parents to be part of a family.

Charlie chanced reaching across the table and briefly touched the back of Josh’s hand. “Everyone does it differently and at different times. Hell, some people never come out. You need to do it in your own way and at your own speed. You’ll know when it’s right.”
“It’s the right time now, Charlie.” Josh hoped Charlie could hear the sincerity in his tone as he tried to convey that Charlie was the very reason he needed to face his fears. “I want to be able to be up-front and honest. I want you to be able to come over and hang out anytime. I want to be my true self around Andrew. I want him to love me for who I am—who I truly am.”

Balancing the demands of a corporate career with raising a family and writing can be challenging but she wouldn’t give it up for the world.
