The Eclipse (2022)

 Having loved this pair in Only Friends, I wanted to give it a try to The Eclipse, but I think this is not my cup of tea. High school romance is not my favorite setting, and while the couple was nice, the story was too less romance and too much thriller for me to appreciate. It's not that the thriller is something too much scaring or other, is that, for me, there is too little romance in comparison. HEA. You can see it on Youtube. Heat Level: 3/6. After writing this, a nice comment had me thinking that I was too harsh. Indeed the series is good, yes, it's not the romance I like, but the actors and their roles are well written and played. If you are in for a good characters development, for sure I suggest to give this one a chance.

My favourite series so far include He's Coming to Me, Not Me, Moonlight Chicken, Bokura no Shokutaku, 55:15 Never Too Late (one BL plot-line) and Enigma (Thai youth, not BL). I'm most of the way through The Shipper and it's so much better than I expected given the plot synopsis.
So not particularly romance-heavy :)

Really like He's Coming to Me, it took me long to have the courage to see it, but I was glad I did in the end. Not Me is at the same level of The Eclipse, I understand it's well written and the actors are very good, but it's not my cup of tea. Moonlight Chicken was mixed, liked the impromptu, and the first scene when they walk around the market was soo good. Bokura no Shokutaku was nice, but I enjoyed more the single character of Yutaka rather than his relationship with Minoru. I didn't see 55:15 Never Too Late and Enigma.

Yes, the midnight walk in Moonlight Chicken was magic. That was my first Thai series and by the time they got to the table with the Autumn Moon festival offerings I was hooked :)

I know slow burn relationships put a lot of BL fans off, but what I like most about both Moonlight Chicken and Bokura no Shokutaku is how their respective friendships are given enough time to help them heal from their pasts and build a strong foundation for the relationship. The actors were really good at conveying the emotions too, like Jim and Wen smiling at each other or Minoru looking longingly/with love at Yutaka.

Not Me is more of a drama that happens to have gay relationships than BL. The Eclipse is sort of in between drama and BL because the characters are young and negotiating life as a young gay man & the relationship are so central.

I have What Did You Eat Yesterday on my list, will get to it :) Not sure about Naked Dinner, some of the comments and reviews make me hesitant. It wasn't the food part of Our Dining Table I loved, it was the way Yutaka became part of their family through it.

In My Personal Weatherman, even If it’s very physical (but absolutely not vulgar) what I like most are the smiles and glances of the two main characters, with one of them they convey 100 words. This is the reason why, while the story is pretty much silly, I like Love in the Air, the main actor, Boss Chaikamon, again is playing more with his facial expression than his words.

Truth be told, I don’t think Love in the Air is good for you… it’s a very silly story, but it’s sort of conforting for me. There are moments like Christmas that are very bad for me, I’m basically alone, just me and my three cats, so I just need to not think and be distracted.

Yeah. I've learned to avoid MAME.

I'm on my own too. Haven't spoken with anyone other than delivery drivers since a mammogram a month ago. I'm not good at not thinking so I need to be careful with my distractions. Silliness is great but I can't bring myself to overlook certain things like a lot of drama fans do. It means I'm isolated even amongst fans.

I'm sorry. I was diagnosed with cancer, and got under surgery to remove it, in January 2010. I lost my father to cancer in March 1994, but he was first operated in December 1991, and last hospitalized in December 1993. My mother died in January 2019... so yes, these are the worst months of the year for me.
But if you want to talk about series, I'm a drama free person. I don't judge other taste, I'm pretty much aware that what I like is not what other may like. Every life is different, and every perception is different. I can evade reading a stupid book or a seeing a silly series, through, my favorite gay movie is Maurice, far from being silly, but I also like The Wedding Banquet, and totally dislike Brokeback Mountain... I have never seen Titanic, but I love Notting Hill...

Cancer has not returned, but after years taking daily medicines, my blood value were very bad. I was hospitalized this past July, and went under a 4 months therapy to try to adjust it. I got the green check the first week of December, so I suppose fine. But I have to be always under control. I'm now used to it. I suppose I should be lucky I removed it in time.
I don't want to give you the impression I'm unhappy or all, just sometime I feel lonely, especially when everyone is spending time with their family. But I have friends online I can talk too if I'm down, and I have two dear friends I can meet if I feel really really down, so yes, I'm fine.

Forgot to say, if you liked Bokura no Shokutaku, I think you should try What did you eat yesterday?. Also Naked Dining was good, even if the starting concept is a bit silly.
