If you had read the manga from where Depth of Field has been adapted, you would have had the spoiler that this is not a sexy drama, on the contrary of most BL drama adapted from a yaoi manga. Depth of Field is more celebral, more about the inner struggle of Hayakawa Shuichiro (that sincerely I really don't understand, I think this is really a Japanese thing) than about the relationship between him and Konno Ryohei. Sure, in the very first episode, Hayakawa comes out like a sexually free spirit, having sex out of pleasure more than love, but that is just the first impact and then the story moves on another level. I would say this is a really good production if you think to Japanese standard: the two main characters are ordinary guys, in look and attitude, and I think they actually behave like their age asks.
