Elisa, I'm grateful that you put my chapbook THE UNDERWATER HOSPITAL (Zeitgeist Press) in the bi poetry category of your Rainbow Awards poll, and I'm honored to be in the running with Pamela Sneed and Charles Jensen. Readers can find three poems from THE UNDERWATER HOSPITAL in the online journals LitPot and The Pedestal Magazine at the URLs below. The book also contains a love poem to my husband Hew Wolff, published in the print journal Red Rock Review. It can be purchased for $5 at http://www.zeitgeist-press.com.

The brilliance of the Underwater Hospital is in the author, Jan Steckel's ability to weave depth and layers into every poem.
Jan is one of those rare poets who's command of language, and sharp intellect make her writing both moving AND important. No matter what the topic, she has an honest, and a depth that is unmatched by few in the field. My vote for the contest is for The Underwater Hospital.
Thanks so much,

'The Underwater Hospital' is my vote! Jan Steckel's work has the structure of a cresting wave: the brutal suspense of a breath-catching shape that is dissolved almost before it prints itself on the memory. A practitioner of grace and vision.

I haven't had the pleasure of reading The Memory Palace, but I'd like to vote for The Underwater Hospital by Jan Steckel. I know it well and it's a strong piece of work.
