The Rainbow Awards: Call for Judges

This is the last week of voting and I realize that I need more judges for the Jury to allow to all the worthy books a chance to be read and win. So this is a call for Judges, I need at least other 10/15 people willing to read 5 ebooks in a month and half (all November and first 2 week of December).

Please "apply" only if you are really willing and ready to answer to the few emails I will have to send you to plan the work of the Jury, I really don't have the time to hunt the judges around, so think twice before answer, please don't make me loose time, in this moment I have very few. The Jury will be of 60 people, and I'm alone in reining all of them.

If you are interested, leave a comment: they are screened so only you and me will read them.

Genre to be read: Biography, Comedy, Coming of Age/Young Adult, Contemporary, Fantasy/Futuristic, Historical, Mystery/Thriller, Paranormal/Horror. And SubGenre: Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender. You can apply even if you don't feel comfortable to read some of the genres above, only please let me know, so I will not assign to you books that you are not willing to read.

I could judge -- I could read lesbian, transgender and bisexual, since I don't have entries in those categories.

I would be interested in helping with the judging. Lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender

I am not a writer but an avid reader of lesbian fiction

Your "call" is full of mistakes in grammar ... and you're running a literary contest???? Is English your second language or is this a joke?

Are ALL writers with books in the competition barred from judging, or are they only barred in those categories where their books are entered? That would make more writers eligible to participate...

I will be very happy to be a judge.

Yes Lee, for coherence, all writers with books in competition are barred unless they decide to withdraw the books. Elisa

That's what I thought, and I still don't understand why. Changing that rule to allow folks to judge outside their own genre would probably give you the readers you need.

I'm with you in that, but it was the first thing I had to decide to give credibility to the awards, many people were questioning the impartiality of the judges. I lost at least 3 judges for that and now I can go back.

Are you one of the Lambda Literary fan club, oh anonymous troll? Because it certainly seems as if you're grasping at straws in order to criticise the person who has responded to the "if you don't like what's happened to the Lambda Awards you can always start one of your own" palaver by doing exactly that.

Of course, using "Is English your second language?" as a rhetorical question to someone whose userinfo suggests exactly that does make you look as if you came here simply in order to find something to sneer at. Particularly as it is clear in the information about the contest that Elisa is organising it, and that a number of other people are judging the books.

Thank you Jules, also for highlight that I'm organising it, and I will not read or judge the books. Elisa

Comment above: Nanc, can you give me an email address where to contact you? You can PM me or leave another comment here. If you leave a new comment, not reply to this one, it will be screened as the others are. Thank you, Elisa

submission process

Hi Elisa. A friend just sent me a link to this contest, and I'm excited to learn about it. Is there a way that writers can submit their books for consideration? (My novel, Lilac Mines, was just published by Manic D Press.)

Thanks!

Ciao Cheryl, sorry but it's too late, the submissions closed last friday, and now we are on Phase 2, voting the books and on Phase 3 we will read them. The voting phase is almost closed and there was already a first selection of books, so I can't really put you in now. Now I'm searching for readers willing to be on Phase 3, that's reading 5 books in a month and half.
