East Coast Day 6: Boston

Today was again a "cycling around" day in Boston. But it happened something funny. I don't know what you have imagine me when I'm on travel, but probably I'm not exactly the "tourist" type; today attire from feet to head: black comfortable shoes, black linen trousers, black and white silk shirt (a vintage piece of late '80 by Italian designer Gianfranco Ferre, only since I bought it second hand I could afford), black pashmina scarf, big dark sun glasses (a bit diva style, they are a gift from my mother and are quite expensive, I'm always careful when I have them on, but if I don't use them, what sense is to have?). Anyway, I have some distinctive tool of the tourist: a rented bicycle of a quite famous service in town (sponsored) and a camera in hand and I was clicking picture to a famous building. I was there doing my business, when a young guy asked me for an interview for a television show; actually I didn't understand exactly what the show was and I was already refusing (I'm quite shy), when a young woman, colleague of the former young man, arrived to support her friend in the request. When I explained that I was Italian and I was a tourist, they accepted my refusal, from what I understood they needed an American candidate and not a tourist... well, who did they think I was? a Bostonian in incognito? Taking pictures of my own city? Anyway, this day I liked better Boston, maybe I visited the less touristic places, but all in all I wasn't expecting for the city to be this big, I was thinking of something smaller, more quiet and "walkable".

That picture of the water running through is amazing, and the apartments look so cool! :D

Thank you. The water is actually a very big fountain, simple but very effective. Elisa
