Whatever happened to Doreen Owens Malek?

Ms. Malek's awards include the 1986 Romance Writers of America Golden Medallion for Crystal Unicorn in the Traditional Category and a Romantic Times magazine award for Danger Zone. Six of her books, including Desperado, Roughneck, and A Marriage of Convenience, have appeared on the Waldenbooks Romance bestseller list.

Malek contributed the essay "Mad, Bad, And Dangerous to Know" to Dangerous Men And Adventurous Women: Romance Writers on the Appeal of the Romance. She also published under the name Faye Morgan.

I remember reading quite a few of her books back in the 80's I haven't picked up a catogory romance in a long time, but she was one of my favorite authors when I was reading Harliquin and Silhouette Romances.

I believe she may have just passed on in a murder suicide in Londonderry NH.
