Laura "Zel" Carboni: Yaoi Made in Italy

I just added a new post to the "Chatting with" series on "Rosa is for Romance".

Laura "Zel" Carboni: Yaoi Made in Italy

"Hi to all!

I will introduce myself: my name is Laura Carboni, but everyone calls me "Zel." I started my career as a designer when I was still a toddler: I made my first colored drawing when I was two years old and my mother still keeps it! :-)

Some people ask me how I can draw in two completely different styles, as may be my personal and what I should use for "Winx Club"... and the beautiful thing is that I don't know for sure even I! :-) It's like if I had two spacious closets, positioned precisely in my head, and that I open and close depending on what I want to take out, namely, what I should draw. It is not easy, it is not gratifying, but it is necessary because professionalism means sacrifice and flexibility."

The strenght of Laura is that their men are really "manly".

And for the cover thing, she has done the cover for Gadarene by Tina Anderson and C.B. Potts. I don't know if it was an only thing or if she is available for other works. Maybe if, and when, you publish with another publishers (even if Linden Bay is very good), you could try.

If I send something elsewhere, I surely will ask. And you've hit it - the figures are stylized, but they are clearly men, not boys, which I find a lot more erotic. (I would love to see her do a Tarot deck--it would be the perfect Christmas present for a couple of my friends.)
