Cara Elisa,

I've seen a few of these movies, although I was amazed at the lenght of your list, that is also at the big job you've done. Congratulations and thank you!

you are allowed to vote as many movie as you want

Are we also allowed to vote as many times as we want for the same movie? Then I would use my multiple vote for ''Brokeback Mountain'' ;-))
Seriously. It is probably complicated, but I would have liked to give them points, I don't know, one to five stars or something similar.

Ciao

Antonella

Yes, this is a first attempt of an idea ;-) for now I will keep it simple, if I see an interest maybe I will think something more complicated/structured

thank you for starting this - a great idea.
but i think antonella is right somehow..
but for a start this is great..
and i must admit i saw almost all of them and added one.. ;-)
but i always wanted to have a place where i could compare films with other people's ideas - lile on goodreads... my gay films at least.. ;-)

I don't think my journal can be such a place, but we can start from little steps ;-)

YOU ADDED SCOTT PILGRIM. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW. Wallace is so awesome.

My favourites were all there. Rocky, Scott, Shelter, Patrik Age 1,5, Holding Trevor, Get Real..

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I have still to see Scott Pilgrim, but other suggested it to me and so it's in my wishing list. I hope to be able to see it soon, there is still the chance it will come out in the theatre here in Italy. Elisa

I'm not sure how much sense it would make to those who have not read the comics, but it's still hilarious, if you ask me. I hope you get to see it. ;)

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the opinion I heard are positive, so I think they did a good job with the movie. And no, I haven't read the comics as well.

[identity profile] lab-jazz.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I'm thick I'm not sure what I had to do here so I just clicked the movies that I enjoyed.

Some of my favourite gay Cinema movies aren't on the list:
The Toilers and the Wayfarers
For a Lost Soldier
Cruising
The Line of Beauty
The Hours and the Times
Love in Thoughts
Soldier's Girl
Time to Leave
XXY

Thank you. How you voted in the poll was fine. Indeed I realized too late that I didn't give enough space to people to suggest more than one movies ;-) but again you did right leaving a comment with the list of them.

I would have voted 20 times for Big Eden. :) But I didn't! I did vote for all the ones I loved, though. What a great poll!

Some recs:

Taboo
Burnt Money
Twist

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, also I love that movie ;-) and yes, this is a nice poll also for me, I'm finding out about movies I didn't know about!

And how did I miss mentioning "Caravaggio"? :)

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, what jump back in the past, I saw that movie when I was still in school I believe.

Ciao Elisa!
I voted! :) I was surprised it turns out I've seen most of the movies in the poll! I've seen a few that aren't there, but I would have to think about it for a while, in order to be able to make some suggestions (my memory sucks).

Great idea!!! :)

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
There is time to make suggestion Francy ;-) I'm only planning something now, I haven't still decided what to do with that LOL

[identity profile] francy-m79.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes... I'll think about it (possibly not too much! :p ) and then I'll make another comment here! ;)

[identity profile] francy-m79.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, some movies I think you should absolutely check out, if you haven't already:

Brotherhood/Brotherskab
No Night Is Too Long
Lan Yu
Km. 0
Un Amour à Taire/A Love To Hide
Quemar Las Naves
Eyes Wide Open
Don't Tell Anyone
Fashion Victims
Circuit
An Early Frost
Grande Ecole

I would have a lot more to suggest, but I think for now it's enough! LOL

I voted for the movies that I loved SO MUCH that I ended up buying a copy on DVD. In an attempt to be frugal, you see, I've opted to rent rather than buy movies.

Somehow, I overlooked my very dear "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". *facepalms*

Movies that I wanted to add:

Cruising

Pageant

The Donald Stratchey Movies (starring Chad Allen, an out gay actor)

Paris is Burning

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm like you, and I also try to see the movie in theatre if possible. I only buy the DVD if I really want it for a fangirl reason :-)

[identity profile] ashmedai.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen most of these, so I could only vote on the ones I have seen and actually liked. :)

Some more of my favorites:

Lilies
XXY
For a Lost Soldier

...can't think of anymore. I'm afraid I'm not much of a movie-watcher, though I do enjoy reading your reviews. :)

[identity profile] elisa-rolle.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
thank you Alex ;-) Lilies was a movie I haven't seen yet but I remember someone recommended it.
