Gossip Again! since Jules said that it's a social community work I'm doing...

In one of the comment on my last "Gossip" post, [livejournal.com profile] debbie1701 pointed me to this youtube: it's a scene from an american series, a prime tv, "Brothers and Sisters" where a gay man makes a marriage proposal to his lover; Debbie said that for her is the first time she has seen something like that in an american television. Truth be told, the scene is very sweet:

And today I read on [livejournal.com profile] slashislove's livejournal that Luke MacFarlane who plays Scotty Wandell on Brothers & Sisters, came out to Toronto's The Globe and Mail newspaper in an article published today.

In 2006 MacFarlane made news for his alleged relationship with the star of Grey's Anatomy T. R. Knight, while in 2007 has been linked to Wentworth Miller of Prison Break.

Is this a case where play gay in a fiction allow to a public man to coming out? Another reason to like this type of fiction!

I'm glad you're sharing this link! Next Sunday they will have their wedding during the season's finale. YAY!
Both characters are very kind and likable.

Someone recently told me about the actor MacFarlane but I didn't know if it was true or not. Thanks for sharing the source. :)

I read the Globeandmail.com interview. Good for Luke.

I don't watch Brothers & Sisters, but I will watch the season finale. It's about time, love between two men is celebrated on mainstream cable.

I think that's what happened with Robert Gant of Queer as Folk - he wasn't in the closet with friends, but he wasn't open about his sexuality either. I believe that he became inspired to declare that he was homosexual while playing Ben Bruckner. I think he is amazing for telling the world. :)
