In one of the comment on my last "Gossip" post,
debbie1701 pointed me to this youtube: it's a scene from an american series, a prime tv, "Brothers and Sisters" where a gay man makes a marriage proposal to his lover; Debbie said that for her is the first time she has seen something like that in an american television. Truth be told, the scene is very sweet:
And today I read on
In 2006 MacFarlane made news for his alleged relationship with the star of Grey's Anatomy T. R. Knight, while in 2007 has been linked to Wentworth Miller of Prison Break.
Is this a case where play gay in a fiction allow to a public man to coming out? Another reason to like this type of fiction!

I think that's what happened with Robert Gant of Queer as Folk - he wasn't in the closet with friends, but he wasn't open about his sexuality either. I believe that he became inspired to declare that he was homosexual while playing Ben Bruckner. I think he is amazing for telling the world. :)

Date: 2008-05-10 11:45 am (UTC)Have you not watched Queer as Folk? The series is a must view, though some of the storytelling falters a bit in the later seasons.
Robert, or Bobby as many call him, came on in the second season and was one of the main characters until the end.
When the series started, there were two actors that were openly gay. The others remained quiet, I believe so as not to take away from the character they played.
When Robert came on, he didn't say too much. I believe it was sometime just before season three that he spoke out. I thought it wonderful that he felt as though he could be himself.
He's also quite a beautiful man. I give you Robert Gant (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0304580/)
