The Look of Love: Happily Ever After

Romance means only Happily Ever After? Maybe not, but Romance covers dealing with wifes and husbands are always very romantic, even if in the '80 sex tried to intrude...

Wow, Elisa what a trip down memory lane. Well, some of those were before my time, but still very enjoyable and interesting. And those titles, "Afterglow" and "The Bride Saw Red" ... *grins*

Also I like "The Bride Saw Red" and the cover is very pretty. I like to see how the fashion changes but the feeling not, when dealing with HEA almost all the covers are romantic. Elisa

I love vintage covers, especially the Fawcett Crest gothic covers from the 70's and 80's... Phyllis A. Whitney and Victoria Holt had some wonderful stuff on their books back in the day.

Since you like m/m, Elisa, have you read Gordon Merrick yet? He's got some amazing vintage manlove covers. http://www.ianyoungbooks.com/GayPbks/covers/LordWontMind.jpg

I love those old covers and I still have a couple of boxes of books that I bought primarily for the covers. As much as I'm tired of dusting around them, I know if I donate them somewhere they'll just end up in the trash bin. Maybe I can do a page on my website or something as an homage to them...

I had to sell a lot of my old books cause I haven't space in my house. I sold it through a website so I hope they will end on "good hands". But before selling them, I scanned all the covers, and so it's born my site (www.elisarolle.com/romance). I have a page for all the authors of the past (link Romance History)

Oh, those are awesome! Just wonderful. "Four Frightened Women." More like four anorexic women in evening gowns.
