Again by Mary Calmes

The story is very romantic, even if I had the feeling Noah was a little naïve; Dante and Noah loved each other, their family supported them, everything was so perfect that they decide to have a child using Noah’s sister as surrogate mother. If their relationship was so strong and long-lasting, how Noah could have given up to it so easy? And if Dante was so clever to be a CIA agent, how could he be so easily deceived?

One way or the other, Dante and Noah parted way and Noah brings up their daughter all alone; if some reader will question how realistic Grace is, you have never lived with a 4 years old baby girl… they can be even more cute than that.

The proof that both Dante than Noah had too easily given up to their story is that, as soon as they are once again in the same room together, and can finally talk for more than few minutes, all trouble are solved, and they basically take up from where they ended things.

The timeline is not long, more or less 2 days, one in the past and one in the present; the most interesting side of the story is that is funny, yes, funny: even when there is the “drama”, the break-up between Noah and Dante, the author prefers to maintain it on the light tone; when Noah and Dante meet again, Dante is obviously the Alpha male, but he, again, has more a light attitude, and truth be told, Noah doesn’t resist much, maybe right since Dante is like that.

Again is only a novella, but it’s sweet and funny.

I agree with you about the plot. How could both Dante and Noah be so easily parted and why on earth did Dante's boss go to such extremes to keep them apart? There really is no motive and the whole "family all out of touch" thing really got to me. I'm not saying that that part couldn't have happened but we're not living in the dark ages. There's phones and internet and....
But it was a sweet story nontheless. Mary Calmes always gets to my heart. I guess I'm overly romantic. Being a single mother in this instant works against me too. I too want to find a man that will love both me and my daughter and introduse us to his extended family and we'll live happily ever after. That would be so cool.

that is the appeal of these stories to me, stories romantic over the realism, they make me dream and even if they are not realistic, sometime I need them

Yes, me too. I struggled a very long time before I could admit that I love Mary Calmes. But once I gave in I've become addicted to her stories. They are so sweet and so "huggy" that I can't resist. XD Do you know anyone else that writes the way she does? I'd be grateful for suggestions. Have yo read "Again" btw? That one I REALLY liked.

More on the paranormal genre there is Amber Kell, she is more on the defined role stories, but she is always very romantic. But many author on Dreamspinner press are.

Thank you. I haven't tried her yet. And I meant After the Sunset btw, up there on the last comment. Silly me.
