No, no -- a pool hustler isn't a hooker who works at swimming facilities. A pool hustler is like a card shark--someone who pretends to be mediocre until the "mark" -- the sucker -- is betting high, then beats the pants off him. Figuratively, of course!

Hustling pool

Okay, okay. Another Americanism you might not understand. A pool hustler is someone who hangs around pool halls (sort of like a billiard parlor) and hustles games with other players. They play for money and the hustler starts out acting as if he doesn't really know how to play, then wins because he really can and is really good. They can make their living playing these games like 8 ball and 9 ball, but that has to do with the numbers on the balls on the table, nowhere else.
Women can hustle pool, but it has nothing to do with prostitution.
