Top Reviewer on Amazon

So I'm now 9.438 on the list of Top Reviewers on Amazon. It means that I'm among the 10.000 with the higher rank, and the rank is given by the helpful vote of the readers.

Actually I don't know how much "real" is this list, and if I'm not among the first 1.000, it doesn't mean much (I don't have the "badge"!), but I like when I see that someone has voted "helpful" one of my reviews, and then my rank is gained only thanks to M/M romance reviews, so maybe one among the first 10.000 is not a bad thing after all.

The badge is something you would acquire when you assign your "real name" to your account. Link to additional information here. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/14279641/pop-up/ref=cm_rn_rn_help)

Hey!!! Happy Birthday!

No, I use my real name, and infact I have the badge "real name" but the badge as top reviewer are only for who has a rank under 1.000. I don't believe that I will reach it soon, but doesn't matter.

Okay, now I understand. I didn't realize there were so many badges! I was reading through the FAQ, trying to determine if the top reviewer badges are for categories (books, dvds, ect), but my eyes won't focus because of all this dang smoke from the local wildfires. I know the DVD reviewing community is quite active, but in the books, and especially in the m/m books, while there are faithful reviewers, it's not as active.

And thanks for the Happy Birthday! *hugs* I know of a certain somebody that also has a birthday coming up. ;) LC

Congratulations. :-) That's quite impressive, even if you don't get the shiny badge.

Thanks Jules! I will throw a party on my LJ when I will reach the shiny badge... whenever it will be!

I keep forgetting to mention this to you but---there are many review sites for e-books as you know and they have "side businesses" for book advertising and so forth which authors pay for. Sometimes you have to pay a membership fee and then get interviewed etc these services cost alot for new writers!

I find it to be very generous of you to just enjoy these books and give an opinion about them without hoping for anything in return.

I and many authors appreciate your generosity.

I love to intereact with authors and readers, and I can't imagine to be "pay" for it. My rewards are something like this, knowing that someone is reading my thoughts. I love when I stumble upon someone who I don't know, who says that he is reading my livejournal frequently. I would like for people to write more and also let me know if they don't like something of what I do (for example my recurring post, my appointments...). But well, I can't have all.

You are an awesome reviewer, and you deserve all the badges in the world!!! I can't tell you how many books I've found from your reviews that i otherwise would not have encountered.

Your reviews are wonderful. I love reading them.

I think some of the success with my last book had to be due to your review. My sales jumped a nice bit right after you posted it.

That's excellent! And yes, as an m/m reviewer, making the top 10K is a great achievement. [nodnod]
