Seeing a Man about a Horse by Lorne Rodman
Casey has a new stallion: he is stubborn, free and beautiful. And he can shapeshift in a man... a man very willingly to help him during the day with the chores, if he can play with him during the night. Feder is more confortable like a horse than a man, but if the man he can play with is Casey... he thinks twice to run away.
Feder is like all the free spirits: he has a gentle soul and wants to help Casey, but he can't stay to long in a routine life that cages him. Casey knows that he, sooner or later, has to free Feder, but till that moment, he will enjoy having a lover.
Lorne Rodman has described with a gentle tone a fairy tale. She has managed to mix the reality of the Casey's life with the fantasy of Feder's existence. Also describing the sexual behaviuor of Feder and his ancestral boundaries, she still succeeded to feel it right.
A compelling short tale to read in a breath.
