Gay Commercial: HOM

I like this commercial since there is no punch line at the revelation of the gender, obviously the pick up man knew exactly what he was doing.

A man flirts with a woman in a bar, then follows her out and matches her steps from behind, as she coyly looks back.

Cut to his bedroom, where she's undressing for him as he lays watching. The lingerie falls and we see she's wearing men's underwear--he smiles acceptingly as he sees it's not actually a woman. The Bee Gee's song "More Than A Woman" crescendos and the words

"Underneath it all I'm still a man" appear over the black underwear.

Inspired by "The Crying Game" film about a cross-dresser, this British ad is very positive in its portrayal because there is no negative implication to the revelation that it is in fact a man.

I believe it would be the same in Italy. Elisa

Go Team UK! Very classy ad but I wonder what channel it's appear on; most likely channel 4 after 9pm. I also like the way the advert pays homage to Saturday Night Fever, with the chap's footsteps mirroring John Travolta's at the start of the film. *runs off to watch it again and pimp it* You do find the coolest things.

Yes, also I believe that probably it was aired late at night, but nevertheless it was a daring ad. Elisa

That one was perfect. Didn't skip a beat -- I loved that.

Thank you for that, Elisa. It cheered me up, both because of the intent and the music content took me back.

The film came out when we were teenagers, but we didn't want to be seen watching it, as we liked rock music, so we snuck into the theatre - paid for tickets, but kept a very low profile in case anyone saw us .... which was a little naive, as there were eight of us in the group!
Cheers :)

In Italy it came out x-rated for under 14, but I had more or less 18 years. I went to a summer open theatre to see it. Elisa

OH. My. Gods! The cross-dresser model is GORGEOUS. Do you know who it is?

No unfortunately I don't know, and the ad is a bit old, so I think it's quite impossible to find out. Elisa
