A Note in the Margin, by Isabelle Rowan, is one of the best stories I've ever read, from any author new or old. It manages such a balance between beauty and horror, despair and hope, that I find myself returning to it again and again.

I just hope she's working on more.

I loved "Horizons". I read it uninterrupted on my flight to the US from Sydney to LA. I'd saved it especially for this trip. A wonderful first published novel for my fave fanfic author.

Paula, I will add your vote also here, but don't worry, even if Isabelle will not arrive first in this debut fiction category, she is winning on the Contemporary, that is even better since there the competition was among more than 170 books. It's said a lot on the good of A Note in the Margin. Elisa

I would like to vote for Is Harvey Dunne? This book was amazing! I never thought I would enjoy a book of this categorie or subject matter but the way K. L. Romo brought the characters to life was wonderfull. She did a wonderfull job putting thre reader in the shoes of the main character making the reader feel every little bit of pain or happieness Harvey went through on his journey to find himself. Amazing book everyone should read!! In my opinoin this book is a shooing for Ophra's next book club pick.
