Franze & Andaerle: Black Wade, The Wild Side of Love

Franze, professional illustrator, lives in Italy, near Milan. 42 old years, he draws comics and illustrations for children since he was 16 old years. Andärle lives in Italy as well, in a town in the Alps, close to the Dolomites. He is 43 years old and started working as a graphic advertisement, but in the last 12 years he has worked as illustrator for children books and comics. As well as for Franze, Black Wade was his first experience with an erotic / gay comic.

Amazon: Black Wade: The Wild Side of Love

The Story of Black Wade: The rough and merciless pirate Black Wade and his band are the scare of the seven seas. And just like his greed for gold is insatiable, his sexual craving knows no boundaries as well: When they board a British ship, Wade takes Lieutenant Jack Wilkins as a prisoner to satisfy his lust. At first Wilkins struggles with all his might, but soon he has to acknowledge that he actually has pleasure in the eager sexual encounters with the handsome pirate. In the meantime his fiancée Annabeth is waiting wistfully for the return of Jack, not knowing if he’s still alive. And on the pirate ship emotions are running high as well: Buccaneer Marak keeps a jealous watch over the prisoner Jack. He would love to polish Wade’s gun barrel himself. Due to the rising nervousness Wade realizes that he cannot allow himself the tender feelings he begins to have for Jack. To prove how merciless he is, he maroons Jack on a raft and relinquishes him to the forces of the wide ocean. But that’s nowhere near the end of the story…

Black Wade is published in English and French, and will be soon available also in Italian.

I have this in my bottom drawer at home (which I feel is appropriate for it), but have never managed to get past the first few pages. It's a bit too explicit for me. Beautifully drawn, but I find I don't really want to look at that many penises.

Since it is published by Bruno Gmunder, and labelled as "erotic", I'm not surprise. The X-rate level of this publisher is very high.

*g* It's entirely my own fault. I thought "woo! Comic book navy/pirate love with beautiful artwork?! I must read it!" and didn't look any deeper than that. However, at least it's borrowed, so I can give it back to its owner with just a slight regret that it's not quite my thing after all.

Oh damn! I wish I'd seen your comment before I bought it. Not the penis count, I was thinking you may have lent it me.

It belongs to Erastes really - I was just borrowing it from her.

Hope you read the comment above before, it's very explicit ;-)

No, otherwise I could've saved some money but I went on the website. :)

Franze & Andarle are Italian, but I have to admit that it was a Canadian reader to introduce me to them ;-)

I have this and I enjoyed it very much, although as Alex said above, it's quite explicit, there's a lot of non-con in the first half, and it's definitely not for everyone. The art is gorgeous, though, and if the story's a bit skimpy, well, the art is gorgeous. :D

LOL, "The art is gorgeous, though, and if the story's a bit skimpy, well, the art is gorgeous"

I think we can affirm that, the art is gorgeous!

I could so easily imagine this entire book being animated. I really love the art style.

It's not the first time Italian comics turn into animation movies, but here the problem I think it's the gay-theme, I don't see likely that in Italy.
