Confused...

As a steady, weekly voter, I am slightly confused, and was wondering if you could explain something to me, regarding the elimination process. Why is it, that a book cover with a total of 6 votes, made it into the next round, and a LOT of book covers that had 11 votes, and even one with a 12 were eliminated?
Thank you for clearing this up for me...

All the rounds count in the final rate: I suppose you are referring to 509) Bedknobs and Beanstalks that in the last round had only 6 votes, but in total it has 81, that is more than the covers that didn't pass the cut

Ah, I didn't realize that it was an overall and not a weekly only either. Thanks for clearing that up.

It will be like that until the final round. When we will have the 10 finalists than the voting will consider only the actual poll.

I went back and looked at a couple of books that I didn't know what they scored in round 1 and 2, and I happened to notice that #509 wasn't even in the contest the first round, so that the total would have been a total of 63 points. The only way to make 81 points, would be to take the round 2 vote of 18, and add another 18 points (for round one) together with the 63, making it 81... even though there was no round one vote. So, I am very confused!

#509 was a late submission, even if I included more than 500 covers in the first round, there was books submitted after that, and all the books submitted in the literary contest were automatically in the cover contest. To give them a chance, since as I said it's the total count that make the cover pass, I considered the result of the first round they were in for the round they weren't. It's not #509 but all the cover at the end of the poll that are not in alphabetical order.

This round was brutal, so many of my favorites got knocked out!
