Travel in Scotland

Before some of you ask: yes, I took this pictures; yes, they are real, not retouched, I use an old reflex Nikon Camera (1971) and a good photographic film (400 ASA).

Ask if you want to kno what place they are: I have travelled all around Scotland, and it's beautiful!

These are very pretty (love Scotland!) but they're huge pictures and you might want to put them behind a cut for the dial up people?

Oh! Those are beautiful pictures! Scotland is a place that tugs at my heart and someday I hope to be able to visit there.

The castle in the very first pic is one of my most favorites. It's absolutely beautiful and the location gives it a serene atmosphere :)

It was on my list of possible castles to use for settings for the novella I'm writing now, but it just didn't fit in the way I had hoped.

I have a live-cam bookmarked on it. It's very eerie in the mornings just before the sun comes up :)

I'm looking for something roughly about the size of Dunvegan, but I'm not quite sure that Dunvegan is "right". It just doesn't jump out at me as "the one".

I can't find the picture that initially gave me the atmospheric inspiration, but when I find it, I'll post it on my LJ. But what I'm looking for?

Let's see...

* something that's heavily wooded
* not easily accessible
* Highland area
* loch location would be nice
* I'm not a big fan of the "newer architecture" of some of these castles (that makes them seem more of a mansion)

In the story, the castle will be nicknamed something else, and I'm currently researching for the Gaelic meaning of a few words.

*chuckles* And now I'll stop hijacking your post...
