Ed is a painter, a scenic artist for theaters. After some years he returns to his first job, The South Downs Theathre, where still works Jason, his first real love. But Jase is straight and Ed has never have the courage to admit his love with him. Someone else has chatted about it and Jason sometimes has mentioned something, but nothing has happened.

Now they are again together, and Ed's feelings are still strong. And Jase is more willing to experiment with him the sexual delight of gay love. But all their encounters are sharing in secret and no one knows they are lovers... maybe because no one has to know? Above all Jase's girlfriend?

I like Ed character. He is romantic and tender, he believes in love and he wants to see all the things good to achieve his desires. He is generous and open. Jase is more selfish. He doesn't understand his feelings and to obtain an answer he uses Ed, he takes advantage of Ed's feelings; luckily, he is in love with Ed, but he behaves coldly, he is not tender. Have you have an hint that I don't like very much Jace character?

The story is short. The plot is simple but enjoyable. The sex scene are natural and appropriate. In the end an interesting reading.

So a social worker thinks to offer him a works with his brother: a 50 years old blind businessman who needs someone who reads for him and sometimes takes him out.

After a year living with Barn, Kay is in paradise. Barn is loving and caring, he makes him feel special. And Kay now wants something more, wants also the love of Barn. But he doesn't dare to ask, cause he thinks himself not worthy of that love. And Barn on the other hand, has no courage to ask cause thinks himself too old for Kay and fears that Kay, after his experience on the street, doesn't like the sex.

But one night all the fears are put apart, and Barn and Kay find a common path and begins a life of laught, sex and tender caring. But still Kay can't understand why Barn wants him when he can have whoever he wants.

The story is short but extremely romantic. It's like to plunge in a cloud of sweetness. Even if is Barn the character with a physical impedment, he is him that seems to give the strenght to Kay: the strenght to leave a tormented past behind and reborn to new life to be able to love again, or maybe, for the first time. And his love this time will be not bertrayed.

AJ is the new vet in an small town in Wyoming. He soon meets Guy, a cowboy who works for a dude ranch. Guy is a good man, rough but with a gentle soul. AJ instead is open and young, with the hobby to shelter all the abandoned pet he can find.

From the first time AJ and Guy recognize in the other a twin soul: they are gay, but in a small town like that in where they live, it is not simple to find someone to share some intimate moments. But now maybe Guy can share the cold winter night with someone else.

The story is very short but tender. In this provincetown world there are not words speak loud to claim something or clamorous outing to affirm an ideal, but instead there are two souls who try to build a cosy world where they can live together in peace.

The Dark Dragon is a former pro wrestler and now plays on the babies league. For some reasons he was put off the big league when he was still in good form and now he manages to mantain himself working city to city and living in depressing motel. Then one night a young reporter, Alex, promises him a good dinner in exchange of an interview. Put in front of a big steak and a nice view, the kid reporter is not a bad guy, he can't refuse.

Alex is following the wrestler circuit since years. And he has a soft spot for the Dark Dragon, the bad boy of the circuit. And when he meets him, the soft spot becomes an hard one (here is a pun) cause Dragon is a good guy, open and honest. And so Alex decides to write a good article, and maybe decipt this guy like the hero this time and not the villain. And if he gains a night or two with this guy, well, no one will be unsatisfied.

Dragon is the classical big guy, with a big heart and maybe not so clever, but gentle and caring. Alex instead is smart, and even if he is the weaker one, phisycally, it is the leading character of the couple. A short and enjoyble story.

This a short and somewhat sad tale. Ralph is a clown, but he is not happy like he shows on stage. He is alone and on the brink of alcoholism. He doesn't have friend. Neither the big tiger, Kadin, who performs with him on stage, even if the tiger is always gentle with him and always purrs when he sees him.

One night, alone e restless as always, he goes to check on his tiger and enters his cage. And suddenly his tiger shapeshifts in a man, an extremely attractive man. A man who wants him and only him as his mate. But one night is all they will have and the morning after Kadin will return to his cage. But this time he will be happy, cause his clown has set him free, even if for only one night.

In a brief tale, Thom Jaymes manages to create a world of fantasy and love, with an undertone of melancholia.

Jesse is a 26 years old businessman with a wonderful life: money, a beautiful house in a good neighborhood, friends. One friend in particular: a young guy of 15 years old, the boy next door. Keith sees in Jess an idol, and he desperetely wants this man; but Jesse sees in Keith only a kid. Beside Jesse, even if gay, likes a different type of man: bid, sturdy men, and Keith is a skinny boy and probably he will not grow much more.

Then Jesse has to leave for a business trip, a year long journey in Europe, but he promises to write to Keith. But the year end with a terrible car accident and other two years pass before Jess returns back home. And when he sees Keith he can't believe at his eyes: Keith is more than 6 feet tall and during the days with him grows more. And he also can't accept a no by Jesse: now Jesse is wounded in spirit but also in phisyc and doesn't want no one near him. But Keith doesn't listen to reason and open himself a way in the life and in the bed of Jesse.

This is terrible wrong. Keith is 18 years old, he has to go to college in few days, and he can't possibly want a man scarred like him. Jesse continues to repeat to himself this words, but he also has to admit that the presence of Keith in his life makes him happy, for the first time in so many year he is warm and sure.

But Keith continues to grow. Like a giant. Is it Jesse the reason of this all? Is it love or is it obsession?

Jesse is a wonderful character: clever, sympathetic, gentle. He doesn't blame the other for his fate, he tries to close himself to people, but never wants to hurt them. And he thinks before doing something and tried to find the right solution for everyone.

Keith is young and reckless. He wants: he wants his father's attention, he wants his brother's respect, he want Jesse's love. And everything he wants he have. No matter what it cost. He is pretty scary sometimes. But he really loves Jesse. And Jesse knows how to contain this giant.

Rowan McBride has an extremely original mind. This is a pretty long novel, who use a pretty similar starting point of other her romance, True e One Good Hand, the "changing lover", but in a more "realistic" way: in this novel there aren't aliens, but only two men who love each other beyond the nature law.
