Andrew is commiting suicide. He has written his will, has found someone to take care of his dog and has a gun in his mouth. He is ready. After nine years spent to live his father wanted for him he has no more reason to live anymore. He has left his only love, Tony, nine years before.

Andrew and Tony were roommate in the same fraternity. Andrew from a rich family, Tony from an old fashion italian family. Very old fashion and very close, and very Weres... But Andrew didn't know that and Tony feared to reveal his secret to his lover. I's not only a problem to be gay in a society where it's impossible to be, but also to be human and were, an unlikely pair, worst than man with man.

Andrew is clever and submissive. He likes to be on bottom, he craves to be submissive. But his father wants a MAN like son, he has planned every step of his son life. And Andrew is clever enough to make all the right step, but they aren't his steps... he only wants to be with Tony and if he can't have him, he has no reason to continue.

Tony is a strong Alpha male, but he is also a Lone Wolf. He can live without the pack if he can have his mate. But he respects all the choice of his lover. But not the ultimate choice: he will not let his lover give up life.

The story is setting in two moments: in the past, during the college years of Tony and Andrew, and in the present. I really like the present point of view and I'd like to read more. I really hope that Evangeline Anderson will write more about these two and about their future life.

Daniel is a 19 years old guy who doesn't know what he feels and who he is. In a futuristic world where samesex is sold in a restrict quarter near the quarter where vampires live, Daniel gets off at the wrong stop. He wants to know if he likes men and instead ends with a bite on his neck. But he is bitten by a rogue vampire and Gabriel, a Vampire Guardian, arrives to rescue him.

Gabriel is like the angel the name he wear: he is handsome and caring. And Daniel maybe has the chance to share love with a tender one not a stranger uncaring. And Gabriel agrees to introduce Daniel to the joy of sex, but only for one night: he will never bond an innocent like Daniel to him.

A very brief but enjoyable tale, I like Evangeline Anderson's style. Only a weak point: it is too short and I read the blurb of the next enstalment in the series and it's not about Daniel and Gabriel. Like in Pledge Slave, Evangeline Anderson has created two interesting characters, but has not given to them to chance to fully grow in the fantasy of the readers.
