Cow Pie Bingo by Addison Albright

Evan is 32 years old man who has recently finally admitted with himself to be gay. Divorced and handsome, he could have every woman he wants, but he ogles to the men at the park, not having the boldness to make a move. And then he accepts to work for the kissing booth on a fundraising fair, but the last customer to pay a ticket to kiss him is not a woman, but a very handsome man, Gary.

Flirting and kissing, finally Evan will have his chance to enjoy love with a man.

Cow Pie Bingo is a very short, less than 20 pages, but very funny and romantic tale. In so few pages, the author manages to give you a perfect image of Evan and his life and also a pretty nice description of Gary. Asking for more? I don't know. Probably after the first hot but sweet encounter, Evan and Gary's relationship will flow smooth and nice as other similar story, and so I don't need to read more. This story is perfect as it is, short and complete... but if Addison Albright wants to tell us more, I will read more by her.

Signet and Silk by J.J. Massa

If you don't like a very commanding man, you could have problem to like Pierce. Pierce is a top lawyer, partner in a firm. He is in charge at work and at home and he likes it. He is bisexual, for him it's not important the genre of his lover, but that his lover is a submissive. And so when Landon enters the firm for a law practive, Pierce knows to have found his sub.

Landon is a very young and nice man. Gentle and shy he has a deep crush on Pierce, but for sure he would never find the courage to make a move on him. And so he is totally unprepared when Pierce corners him in the print room and makes love to him. And when Pierce orders him to go home with him and begins to explain the duties of a good sub, Landon can only answer yessir, to all and forever.

Signet and Silk is not very long, only 30 pages, but I like it. It starts with a third point of view and then first the author tells the story using Pierce's point of view and then Landon. So we have an all around impression of the story. Obviously if you have problem with the concept to give all the power in the hand of your partner, you could consider Pierce a negative character. But it seems that Landon needs that; true, Landon is very young, and maybe it would be interesting to see this same couple ten years after, when Landon will be a real man, and not a blossoming boy...

Liam’s Lover by Bryn Colvin

Russ and Liam were young and full of passion. They loved art and they played together in a band, but really no one of them was very good. And so Liam tried the actor career in the States and Russ became a good radio dj.

Years later Russ has a pretty good but lonely life: his long time fiancee dumped him when she discovered that he was googling gay porn site. Not that Russ has ever had an homosexual experience, but he has fantasized on it. And then suddenly Liam phones him: he is back in England and he needs a friend. He can't stand all the media circus and the only person he thinks that knows the real Liam, is Russ. And Russ gladly accepts the role of the old friend, but can't prevent himself to dreaming about Liam in a not very friendly way.

Since Russ thinks that Liam has everything he wants in life, he can't be interesting in an average man like Russ, and then Liam is straight. But maybe Russ is wrong.

The story is not very long, 50 pages, but it's the classical romantic comedy I like. No much drama, it reminds me a bit Notthing Hill with Julia Roberts's role played by a man! Both Russ and Liam are likeable characters, even if maybe I find more involving Russ; Liam is good, but I feel him a bit detached, maybe cause the story is told by Russ' point of view.

I think the plot is rather good, but I'd like for the story to be a little longer: I think the idea deserved a bit more. Maybe the author could consider to write a sequel, and tells us Liam and Russ' life together (and so I made a spoiler, now you know that there is an happily ever after...)

Day of Reckoning by Carol McKenzie

Blue is the son of a wealthy cattle baron in Wyoming. Probably young (the author doesn't give us an age) he has a fling with a wandering cowboy, Jack. Since Blue is not yet ready to come out with friends and family, Jack decides to hit again the ground and joining the rodeo circuit. A year later, Blue is out with his family, but obviously they haven't took the news very well and now Jack is back in town, but he will remain only if Blue is giving him something more than a fling.

The story is very short, less than 25 pages, and in this few pages I can't really have an idea of Blue and Jack. But I like the setting, a small country town, and also the idea of Jack's character, this old-lived cowboy who falls for the good boy Blue.

Sincerely I'd like to read a bit more, I feel this one like a lost chance to have a very good book. But if you search for a fast and nice break, this one is a good one.
