Sullivan is an African American restaurant owner. He is happy that his new launched restaurant is going well and he is in full activity on New Year's Eve. All his employees are adult and skilled professionals but they turn into giggling girls when in the restaurant enters Quinn Lawrence, big Broadway star; Quinn is a dominant figure, outside and inside the bedroom and when he sees Sullivan, he sees someone that he wants and who he wants he gets.

The story is not so short, 40 pages, but it spans only a night and a day: Quinn sees Sullivan, Quinn conquers Sullivan and Sullivan surrenders happily. A lot of sex, easy and messy (dark chocolate involved...) and a nice naughty story. It could be a nice starts for a love story, but what will happen in the New Year is not written in this story. On my side I would like to read more since there are the basis for a good story: show business world, long distance relationship (Quinn lives in New York, Sullivan in Atlanta), multicultural lovers (Sullivan is African American, Quinn is the classical wasp).

"My name is Ismael Alvarez. I was born on May 12, 1978 (Taurus) in Ayamonte, a small town of Huelva, Andalucia, Spain (Although now we could say it's a great city because of its growth and its popularity). I am a child of a married couple who married at 15 and 17 years respectively, also born in Ayamonte. Right now, I live in Madrid, the Spanish capital, this city and not change it for the world. I love Madrid, and as the saying goes: "From Madrid to Heaven." I was fascinated not only by the fact that this city is beautiful, but by the people I have met here, very important to me, who are already part of my life. And it is here in Madrid where I began working as an illustrator, designer and comic book. I love the world of comics in general, the world of eroticism, and why not say the world of pornography. I do not understand why people see the world of sex (and everything around it) as something dirty, only to perverts ... It is quite the opposite!, In my web, and even in myself you can find a sample of this, a world full of beauty and eroticism (remember that beauty is subjective ...). And if you do not like what you see, you got it easy, just ... DON'T LOOK!. Sex is something nice my dear friends, we need to like it as such ..."

"An artist is someone who produces things that people do not need but that he, for some reason, thinks it would be a good idea to give them." - Andy Warhol --

In April 2009 Bruno Gmunder will release an art book by Ismael Álvarez, In Yer Face:

http://www.amazon.com/Yer-Face-Ismael-Alvarez/dp/3867870241/

Alvarez’ incredibly striking style is a powerful blend of beauty and unabashed sensuality. From the fantastic to the vividly realistic, the works collected in this book are bound to arouse the eye and body.

The short story by Gavin Atlas was published inside the Anthology Hard Hats edited by Neil Plakcy. The common theme of the anthology is the construction workers world, and in Gavin Atlas 15 pages story, Demitri, the owner of a construction company named Hercules to the Rescue, is trying to restore an house while the lawyer who owns the house is on vacation and his son is using the house as personal playground.

Dylan, the young man, is a college student with very little propension for studying and a lot of interest in find a sugar daddy to maintain him. While his father is gone, Dylan is having a relationship with the man's boss, with the little and improbable hope of a job's offer. The man is also inviting friends over to "use" Dylan as their personal whore, and Demitri is tired to see all this, above all since he eavesdrops a phone call in which Dylan told his forbidden fantasy about him.

Like in the previous short story by Gavin Atlas I read, there is a twink type of character who has no problem to consider sex as a recreational activity; in this case is a "little" better since Dylan has no a psychological problem, he is only lazy! He thinks that using sex he can work less for what he wants. And also Demitri is a better character since he, as reward to Dylan to access the boy's grace, offers to the boy an alternative to a life as kept man... I'm not sure that Dylan will take the chance, but still is better than nothing.

Erik is a medieval painter very skilled both as a painter than as lover. But lately he performs more his lover's skill than the painter's one and the king is not happy. The king asks the court's mage to punish Erik and the mage takes a bit too much pleasure in doing so, banishing Erik to an endless life without any mortal pleasure, food and sex, and leaving him only the pleasure of art. Every year Erik has only a night with a chosen lover to refill his soul, and the night should be enough for him for all the year.

In modern time Jason is eager to now the famous Erik the painter, a man who is believed to be the last of a generations of painters in work since the Middle Ages. When innocent and virgin Jason arrives to the gothic manor where Erik lives, he discovers that the man is a very handsome guy and he is swept away in a night of passion that forces Jason to let go every boundaries. But the morning after Jason will be one more paint in the personal gallery of Erik.

The starting point of the story is nice, but it would be interesting to have something more on Erik's life after the damnation: instead there is an abrupt rush to the end of the story; maybe not so surprising since the book is only 37 pages long. An orgy at the beginning, a long sex scene in the middle, and a fast romp en plain air at the end, and the book is finished. But all in all, for a short story, at least it's original.
