I decided to post two different videos today, both commercial to promote a gay friendly tourism. The history lovers probably will love the first one:

A turn-of-the-century looking gentleman writes a letter with a quill pen, "My dearest beloved, how I long to be with you again, to see your radiant smile. Please journey to Philadelphia, where we will be at liberty to meet this Monday, at Independence Hall, as the clock strikes six."

The fellow is now seen wearing his best formal wear (complete with ruffled shirt and Paul revere-style black cap), standing on the steps of Independence Hall, searching for the face of his affection. A young woman walks by, slyly flirting with him (and suggesting heterosexuality), but he looks on past her. A female announcer says, "Philadelphia and its countryside have a long history of making everyone feel welcome and free." As the man holds flowers and checks his watch, his male companion sneaks up from behind. As the men walk away together, the tagline announces, "Come to Philadelphia. Get your history straight and your nightlife, gay." (Saying "gay" in the tagline especially calls out to the audience, in case anyone missed it in the old-fashioned imagery.) The spot cleverly suggests gays have been around for a much longer time than they've been in the news, and yet is subtle, perhaps so as to not upset mainstream viewers.

A group of male friends is playing soccer on the beach when suddenly some of them stop running. Two girls on the beach have caught their attention and they lose interest in the game.

Afterwards the same thing happens again - the team stops to watch a girl shower on the beach. These occurrences bother one player in particular, who yells at his friends in annoyance each time they lose their concentration. In the last segment of the commercial, the ball is kicked directly to the previously annoyed player, stationed as the goalie, who is now looking away. The camera moves and we see his attention is focused on a man coming out of the water. Meanwhile, the ball passes through his legs and into the goal, causing the rest of his friends to return his frustrated yells. The image blurs and "Israel. No wonder we didn't make it to the world cup ... www.goisrael.com" appears in writing.

... and why I'm thinking to delete my quite unused MySpace one.

read on Michael Breyette's blog: http://michaelbreyette.blogspot.com/2010/02/when-does-objection-to-nudity-become.html

Do you remember my post about the next exhibition of Paul Richmond and his Cheesecake Boys? Michael will be one of the gaylebrities that will model as Cheesecake Boys and he posted a funny picture on his Facebook fan page:

and yes, I'm reposting it not under the cut. I don't have anything against nudity, and people that frequent my Man Candy posts well know that, but if there is a full frontal nudity I put it under a cut. In this case, I will not, but not since I want to be daring, but since I don't find the above picture "scandalous". There is only an hint of cheeks, no butt crack, I even find it more thoughtful than sexy.

As I said in my comment on Michael's post, I don't like the majority of people on those media, so I'm not surprised that a woman, who was in the list of Michael's friends (!) asked for the picture to be removed... but that Facebook actually did it? They don't have a thinking mind? There is porn and there is art, and all right, sometime there is a subtle line between them, but not in the case above.

So I will state it here, profiting of Michael's disaventure: I will post pictures of naked men (or women if I like), but if it's a full frontal nude, I will put it under a cut. If not, I will post it as above. Friends, you will have to trust me and my judgement.
