When I was very little I had an Art Nouveau print in my room and I used to going to sleep staring at it, so maybe this is th reason why I like so much the work of this artist, Kiriko Moth. Here is what she says in her presentation:

"I have been drawing and painting since a very young age, ever since I learned that art was a way to make tangible the things we could never have in real life. I’ve always known I was going to be an artist; it’s so much a part of me that even if it wasn’t a career path, I’d still be drawing all the time.

I was born in Sacramento but grew up in Santa Fe and Nashville. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a BFA in graphic design and illustration, and decided to return to Northern California. I now live in San Francisco, which is just an incredible city. I’m working at immersing myself more in the art community here in SF – I really hope to get to be a part of the amazing local scene.

Clockwork Wings: "It started out as a throwaway scribble in my sketchbook and turned into a sort of iconic piece for me. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s one of the few pieces that I can look at and honestly say that I don’t want to change or fix some part of it."

I have dabbled in just about every method and medium that I can get my hands on, but I currently work almost exclusively in ink with digital color. I love to mix the traditional with the new – my work begins in pencil and ink on bristol paper, which I then scan and color in Photoshop.

I draw inspiration from many artists, but some of my favorites include Alphonse Mucha, Michael Whelan, John Jude Palencar, Thomas Canty, and Michael Parkes."

The Brothers and the Dragon: they were half-brothers, bastard sons of the Emperor, content in the splendor of the palace...until the day their father offered them as sacrifices to the cruel dragon, Ryu, who plagued the countryside. Wearing a man's form during the day, and a dragon form at night, he keeps them as his playthings and escape seems impossible. A yaoi fairytale storybook for adults with 18 full color illustrations. (This book is definitely for adults only and contains the following themes that may offend some readers: Sexual relationship between adult half-brothers, non-consensual sex, violence.)

The series by Claire Thompson about a group of single men who are reconsidering their life to understand if they have found and lost their only chance at love is becoming better book after book. After the story of the two college sweetheart who meet again 20 years later to realize that they are still in love like they were so many years ago, it’s now the time of the classical May / December relationship, the crush of a student for his college professor.

Ryan was 20 years old and madly in love for handsome professor Tom, who was 35 years old and the only other gay man Ryan knew about. Probably if Tom surrendered to Ryan’s crush as the boy pleaded with liquid puppy eyes, their relationship wouldn’t have lasted the test of time. Ryan was too young and innocent, more than love it was adoration what he felt for Tom, and Tom was too good a man to profit of the young boy. And then there was also the problem of Tom’s work and the times were different, it would have ruined Tom’s reputation. So these 20 years served to both of them, to Ryan to taste life and to realize what he really wants from it and to Tom to wait and see the gap between them diminish: where 15 years between a 20 years old boy and a 35 years old professor is an insurmountable difference, between a 35 years old professional and a very handsome 50 years old man could be the right distance. Ryan was hurt in the past and he needs a gentle and caring man, Tom suffered the loss of a loved one and maybe Ryan’s youth pushed away the fear that it can happen again.

I like the fact that both Tom and Ryan are aware of Tom’s age, this is indeed also a classical Silver Romance, with Tom being over 40 and at his second chance at love; but in the end, Tom is the “younger” of the two, since, despite being wounded by love in the past, he has not yet let it go the hope that love is still in the future for him; and it will be him that will teach again to Ryan, only that this time he will teach a life lesson, that it’s never too late to fall in love.
