Around the World: Moscow

I was in Moscow in August 2001 and it was raining, in November 2009 raining and snowing, in April 2010 raining! Maybe I haven't to change period, I have to change place :-) Joke aside, Moscow is always a nice city to wander alone and by foot, you always discover some hidden face of the city, like this morning, my eyes were all caught by the Art Nouveau and the Liberty Style.

As always, enjoy some of my pics, for who likes them and ignore them if you are not interested, this is my hobby and I like to share it with my friends:

Duncan’s World by T.A. Chase

This is a very nice and comfy novella. There is a bit of drama, but not so much and basically it’s a story of love and good feelings.

Kyle is a virgin boy following his father in the bull riding circuit and at the same time ogling over all the cowboys in tight jeans. He has never had the courage to act on his desires and probably he would have never if not for Duncan. Duncan is a 17 years older than him cowboy who not only is the nemesis of Kyle’s father, he is also the most handsome man Kyle has never seen. All right, maybe Kyle’s judgement is not impartial, being Duncan also his first man, it’s not that Kyle has so much to compare with, but indeed Duncan is good for him.

From first meeting to becoming lovers the step is short, even if not everything is smooth: Kyle’s father and brother will never allow for him to be gay, and even if they would, for sure not being Duncan’s lover. So Kyle has to sneak out to meet with Duncan.

The main issues Duncan and Kyle have to face to be together are the most obvious: being openly gay in a field where it’s really a danger to be, and the age difference between them. Even if the first is highlighted more times, I really didn’t feel as if it was a so big issue; all right, there were dark glares, and maybe some hints to not being so open, but after all trouble arrived only from Kyle’s family, and I don’t think that the gay factor was the main source for it. As for the age difference, true, someone could wonder if it’s a lasting relationship: Kyle has never had the chance to experiment something, or someone, different, Duncan’s is his first lover; but it’s nice to dream that your first love will be also your last, and then, maybe just a little, Kyle is searching in Duncan the fatherly figure that he is so obviously missing.

For all the rest, the story is all good feelings, from the other side of Kyle’s family, his mother, to what little remain of Duncan’s, his grandfather; they are pretty much the example of what one imagines being a big and warm country family, a safe shelter when the lonely cowboy needs to come back home.
