Nell Stark & Trinity Tam

Nell Stark (born April 16, 1980) is an award-winning author of lesbian romance. In 2010, everafter (with Trinity Tam) won a Goldie award in the paranormal romance category and was shortlisted for the Foreword Book of the Year award in the horror category. In addition to the everafter series, she has published three standalone romances: Running With the Wind, Homecoming, and The Princess Affair. When she is not writing, Nell works as the Chair of English, Philosophy, and Religious Studies at a college in the SUNY system. She and Trinity (born March 23) live, write, and parent their rambunctious child and dog a stone’s throw from the historic Stonewall Inn in New York City. They married on October 12, 2013.

Trinity Tam is an award-winning writer-producer of movies and television. Her favorite job was in video games. Her least favorite, in mutual funds. Everything in between ended in dotcom. In 1996, she graduated cum laude with a BA in East Asian Studies. She giggles whenever someone says cum laude but she doesn't blush. She thinks twelve years living in Manhattan makes her a New Yorker but concedes that loathing the Yankees makes her a bad one.

Muño Vandilaz & Pedro Díaz

A same-sex marriage between the two men, Pedro Díaz and Muño Vandilaz, occurred on April 16, 1061, in the Galician municipality of Rairiz de Veiga in Spain.

A priest at a small chapel married them. The historic documents about the church wedding were found at Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova. St. Rudesind (San Rosendo) founded the once wealthy abbey of Benedictines in 936.

The jewel of the complex is the small Mozarabic chapel of San Miguel, dating from 942. It is located near Allariz and 14 miles (23 km) from Ourense. In the garden is one of the oldest chapels in Spain, built before 973. In the abbey church, are the ancient sepulchers of Ilduara and Adosinda, the mother and sister of the founder, who was buried in a sepulcher supported on four pillars, and constructed after the fashion of that of San Torcuato, one of the companions of Santiago. The Christians, at the Moorish invasion, deposited his body at Santa Coinba, 10 miles (16 km) away. Being near the frontier, some Portuguese carried it off and brought it to Celanova, whose bells began to ring of their own accord.

Daniel Mendelsohn (born April 16, 1960)

Daniel Mendelsohn (born 1960) is an American author and critic.

Mendelsohn was born on Long Island and raised in the town of Old Bethpage, New York. He attended the University of Virginia from 1978 to 1982 as an Echols Scholar, graduating with a B. A. summa cum laude in Classics. From 1982 to 1985, he resided in New York City, working as an assistant to an opera impresario, Joseph A. Scuro. In March 1985 Mendelsohn returned to Charlottesville, VA, to prepare for graduate school, and lived there until began his graduate work in Classics at Princeton University the following year. He received his M. A. in 1989 and his Ph. D. in 1994. His dissertation, later published as a scholarly monograph by Oxford University Press, was on Euripidean tragedy.

Mendelsohn began contributing reviews, Op-Eds, and essays to such publications as QW, New York Times, The Nation, and The Village Voice in 1991, while still a graduate student; after completing his Ph. D. in 1994, he moved to New York City and began writing full-time. Since then his review-essays on books, films, theater and television have appeared frequently in a number of major publications, most often in The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books; others include The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Esquire, The Paris Review, and The New Republic. Between 2000 and 2002 he was the weekly book critic for New York Magazine, and between 1996 and 2006 his reviews appeared frequently in The New York Times Book Review. He has been the recipient of numerous prizes and honors both in the United States and abroad; apart from awards for individual books, these include a Guggenheim Fellowship for a translation of Cavafy's "Unfinished" poems, with commentary; the National Book Critics Circle Award Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Book Reviewing (2000); and the George Jean Nathan Prize for Drama Criticism (2002).

Joan Snyder & Maggie Cammer

Joan Snyder (born April 16, 1940) is an American painter from New York. She is a MacArthur Fellow and a Guggenheim Fellow. Her paintings have been exhibited at several museums, including the de Saisset Museum and the Jewish Museum. In 1980, Snyder moved to Mulberry Street in Manhattan where she raised her daughter and painted in a nearby studio. She later became afflicted with Lyme Disease. In 1989, she moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn so that she could be with her new partner, Maggie Cammer, who is a New York City Civil Court judge.

Joan Snyder's "stroke paintings" from the late 1960s and early 1970s were "abstract compositions, many of them quite large, that are loosely based on a grid format and that together constitute a dissection of the language of painting." The 1980s and 1990s saw a refinement of her earlier vocabulary as "[...] brighter feminine colors and the grid returned. Written phrases, natural materials, and fabrics such as burlap and silks also appeared."

Her paintings have been described by the Boston Globe as "abstract", "intuitive and spontaneous", and "pointedly political". She also paints with a colorful style, using floral effects which are branded with paint sprinkled with a range of materials, such as jewel-like metal objects.

In 1978, Joan Snyder's paintings were exhibited in the Neuberger Museum at the State University of New York at Purchase. Snyder's work has been featured at a number of museums. From June to August 1989, Joan Snyder Collects Joan Snyder, a collection of Snyder's favorite paintings, was featured at the de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University. From September to October 1989, this collection was exhibited at Sonoma State University. In 2005, Joan Snyder: A Painting Survey, a retrospective collection of Snyder's paintings was exhibited at Danforth Art in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Paul & Sean Maher

Sean Maher (born April 16, 1975 in Pleasantville, New York) is an American actor, best known for his role as Simon Tam in the science fiction television series Firefly and follow-up movie Serenity. Maher and his partner Paul (an advertising agency president, together since 2002) have two adopted children: Sophia Rose (born 2007) and Liam Xavier (born 2010). Following the birth of their daughter, Maher took two years off from acting to be a stay-at-home dad. He publicly came out as gay in 2011, using his role as a closeted gay man on The Playboy Club as a platform.

After graduating from Byram Hills High School, Maher trained at New York University where he earned his drama degree in 1997. He acted on stage in several productions, including Yerma and Into the Woods. He is of Irish descent.

Maher starred as the title character, a rookie police officer, on the short-lived TV series Ryan Caulfield: Year One. In 2000 he was one of the main characters on the Fox show The $treet, and he has also appeared on the television series Party of Five (as Adam Matthews) and on CSI: Miami.

He reprised his role from Firefly in the film Serenity (2005). Maher was also cast as a chief resident in a hospital on the new series Halley's Comet. He appeared in the 2005 Lifetime movie The Dive From Clausen's Pier as Michelle Trachtenberg's new love interest. He also appeared as Brian Piccolo in the 2001 remake of Brian's Song.

In 2006, he appeared in the television movie Wedding Wars. After taking a brief break from acting, Maher came back to TV in 2009 as a guest star in Lifetime Television's pilot episode of Drop Dead Diva, followed by 2010 guest appearances in the second season of The Mentalist (CBS), the first season of Human Target (FOX) and the second season of Warehouse 13 (on Syfy).
