1) The world building was great, and I liked the characters, although they fall for each other almost immediately.  The plot was interesting, and I liked the inclusion of characters from earlier books. The writing flowed well, which made the story a fast read, and the settings were easy to imagine.

1) A great introduction of a new author to me.  I really like her writing style even though some of the English terms she uses are confusing to my American brain.  The reader sees both points of view of the men, so you are never left wondering what the other is thinking. Being a short story means the love story happens quickly, like being in a whirl wind.  The long drawn out agnst isn't there where the characters split before coming together again.
2) I loved this story. The plot flowed nicely, the setting was an interesting one, and the writing style was engaging. Connor and Lee were very interesting characters to read. This is not the traditional friendship where close friends become lovers. No, the friendship is a bit one-sided, with Connor going all in and Lee keeping parts of himself hidden. The friendship grows as the relationship develops and I liked the maturity of the characters. I personally dislike when grown men act like moody teens, and this was not the case for his story. Every decision was made by an adult, and I loved how they dealt with everything. Great romance read for me.

Print Length: 226 pages

Publication Date: September 14, 2016
Amazon: Our Secret Wedding (SHS #1) H.J. Perry

A friends-to-lovers, feel-good gay romance. Contains a whole lot of man-on-man love action, and an elopement to Gretna Green for a secret wedding.

Impulsive and romantic, Connor is set to take over the family business, Sky High Scaffolds, with his siblings. But he might be ruled out as possible CEO, because even though he's almost thirty, he's still single.

Connor makes a life-changing chance discovery about a member of his construction team. Lee is gay, but no one at work knows. The macho scaffolding crew aren’t known for their gay-friendliness.

At twenty-nine years of age, sexy scaffolder Lee is looking for love and commitment. He’s not about to hook up with any straight guy who’s going through a gay experimental phase. Especially not his work colleague, Connor.

Lee fears rejection if and when Connor wakes up and realizes he’s not bisexual and not into guys.

Connor fears losing the love of his life if he can’t prove he’s serious about him and win Lee’s heart.

Standalone novel, there is no cliffhanger, no cheating, and there is a happy ending.

Book 1 in the Sky High Scaffolders series.

1) What can I say I really enjoyed this story.  The Setting was sharp and grounded.  The Plot was well thought out and easy to follow, I may not have agreed with all his plot choices but he put a ton of work into the plot and the story so it was enjoyable.  The characters were strong and interesting and I loved that they were all older and not your typical 20 somethings.  That was a great choice on his point.  Showing that you don't have to be young to have an adventure. When it comes to the writing style the narrative was easy to follow even with all the references to mythology.  I would totally read this story again.
2) Bit of a boring start for me, but it soon picked up. I had to keep reading to find out what the hell was going to happen.
